Yep.

I mean, it was a carrier; not a firing platform. It was meant to transport the rifle and rounds, not to fire it.

It's a recoil-less rifle (bazooka, light rocket launcher), not like there is much of a boom under your butt if you did fire it from the stored position.  Aiming would be kind of a challenge.
