Utah State University ran a pilot for a while with wireless electric charged busses. The charge pads were at the bus stops where they sit for a few minutes.
I haven't read it they're still using them, but I also haven't read other places adopted the same technology.
IIRC, they said the charging was 95+% efficient. But that was at a standstill, 6in gap. Seems the road can't be that well tuned....
Oh and the biggest drawback was if someone with a pacemaker tripped and fell on a charging pad, they'd probably die...
