I watched The Inlaws this past weekend, with Peter Falk and Alan Arkin. Funny movie, but when they travel to S.A./Mexico (not sure where it was filmed) there are a crap-load of old Chevys and VWs everywhere. The car the two leads drive is a 1964 Chevy Impala.

I remember a car magazine (might have been Autoweek in the newsprint days) that included an article about stamping dies from Ford USA being shipped to South America. According to the article, it was possible to buy a "new" 1965 Ford Galaxie built from that equipment that moved south.

Same. And 1970s and 1980s. I associate FREEDOM and a BETTER WORLD with them.

I really dislike the direction in whichthe modern world is heading. George Orwell's 1984 is becoming more and more reality every single day. And the climate insanity is being used by governments to take away more of our freedoms, our individual mobility and potentially ban anything and everything that is fun.

I loved the beginning of North by Northwest. Hitchcock shot it on location in New York City - all the cars, taxis & busses of 1959 in real life.
Actually I love all of the film, not just the beginning - one of the greatest ever made.
