So, for 2020, at least in China, GM has renamed the Trax to the "trailblazer" for reasons unknown.

They've also showed four SUV's virtually the same size, two of them on their "GEM" platform meant for developing markets like China.

You have the Trailblazer (Trax replacement)

Encore GX (encore replacement)

Tracker (GEM)

Encore (GEM)

These look so much better than the Ford EcoSport.  That turd looks like it was designed for poor, developing nations.

It was. It's gone through three facelifts. The first couple facelifts weren't sold in the US or very many EU countries.

Here's the US versions of the Trailblazer and the Encore GX

Notes:

They're still keeping the Trax and Encore! WHY??? These two models slot above the Trax and Encore and are marginally bigger.

Encore GX is an awful name; it sounds like a trim level and not an entirely different car. Consumers are going to get them confused!

I think they both look fine, but their Chinese versions are better looking, IMO. The Encore GX has the wheel arches painted body color which make the car look too tall and narrow. And the Trailblazer's US front fascia isn't as well resolved as the Chinese model.

Maybe it's just the difference in camera angle, but I would not have guessed that those are sibling vehicles.

Not bad indeed. I also like the idea they are reviving some of the old nameplates. Maybe if we're lucky they'll dust off the "Lumina" nameplate at some point in my lifetime. I have always disliked Malibu and Impala.

TBlaze looks pretty good.  The Buick looks a little...frumpy?  Like it's shrugging.  But not offending.

Malibu and Impala are classics though. Ruined by the 2000s, but still classic

I, for one, am glad that GM opted to revive and subsequently sully the Impala and Malibu names rather than ruin the glorious legacy of the Lumina and Corsica.

And if they EVER bring back the Beretta, it had better be a massively groundbreaking sport-touring-coupe.. :heated:

TBFI, the most transitional FI of all

Also the easiest to retrofit on older engines.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

I always disliked them, but I think Engine Masters or some other Youtube channel did a comparison of throttle body & port injection and the throttle body actually had some better characteristics that I liked. And I think they made a bit more power with it, due to cooler intake temps same as a carb.

its an easy upgrade for some cars, and it works. Its not flashy or impressive like welding your own intake bosses in, but it does the trick.

TBI is better for forced induction because you might could even maybe get away without an intercooler.
