My sister is shopping for a CUV to replace her rusty Mazda3 with 210,000 miles on it. This is her full review of the new Honda HR-V:

Not really, IMO. And I drive a lot of CUVs and minivans.

Most CUVs, imo, drive like mid-sized sedans.  Minivans don't.

Drives very nicely, though. I was pleasantly surprised when I had the chance to drive one for a day. And that 6-speed had short and precise throws, which further sweetened the driving experience.

None of the CUVs in that segment are appealing.

She likes driving things that are good to drive. She hates minivans and trucks. I told her she could borrow Fiesta indefinitely, but she wanted hatchback, AWD, and automatic (but not CVT).

QUITE FRANKLY, I would also choose an automatic for coastal Connecticut traffic.

Correct, car clutches are crap in congestion.

Although Fiesta has hill hold, first gear is way too tall and there is too much turbo lag. It looks like a city car, but it's a highway machine.
