Title: Lexus UX
Post by: 2o6 on February 27, 2018, 01:07:26 PM
More pics should come in a few days, but this UX crossover is under the NX and replaces the CT in many markets.

I'm convinced that Toyota doesn't know how to photograph it's cars; the NX, RX, LC, and LS are much better looking vehicles in person; their attention to detail and very interesting surface interactions aren't accurately portrayed in Lexus manufacturer photos.

Is it a joint venture with Mazda?  Looks proportionally similar some Mazda CUV.

Yes, there's a fair bit of Kodo in the fenders.

I don't like plastic around the wheel wells for luxury SUVS/raised wagons.  I know Audi Allroad does it and so does a MB similar raised wagon but it looks cheap to me. I don't mind it on my Crosstrek but that car sort of revels in a jeep wannabe aesthetic.

Need more pictures

Agree about the plastic cladding, just paint it. Looks so much better. See: BMW X3

I don't agree; I think black cladding can make a car look less tall and less visually heavy.

But then the grill does the opposite.

Picture looks underexposed and unnatural. Lexus needs to work on its photos (or renders)

It looks like a subdivision surface modifier and an edge split modifier were put on this 3D model in the wrong order.

Power comes from a new 2.0L motor Toyota came out with, as well as a new 2.0L Hybrid Synergy Drive that puts out 180HP. Sounds like it's bigger than the one in the Prius, but not as strong as the one in the Rav4/NX. It's also got a CVT automatic, but it has an actual physical 1st gear to "improve drivability".

The more I look at it, the more I like it.

Not as good as some of the other latest Lexi like the LC.
