Nah I am going to stick to the street, but not commute. It's too much of a hassle to go to the gym after work on a bike, and with the amount of stress and work and lack of sleep, I don't want to be commuting on it every day.

Really just want to trade it for a Grom to learn how to wheelie and dick around town.

I rode my 954 this weekend. I don't think I can part with it, or if I do it'll probably be to trade. I need motorcycle in my life, especially since my friends are getting into them.

I also rode a Daytona. Damn that thing is nice.

That triple is such a sweet motor

Finally heard from Babbits...they said that the parts I ordered (OEM rear brake pads) are on National Backorder and they neglected to inform me.  They also said the part has been replaced by another and they should have it to send to me at the end of the week.  Which hopefully doesn't mean they send me the wrong brake pads like Bikebandit did.  Would be super shitty to wait a ~month and receive the incorrect pads that don't work.

This thing is awesome. I got a little throttle-happy and low sided on a stretch of real loose gravel, the crash guards took all of it no problem

Did you take a spill?

Yeah there was a section of the road that was crowned and covered with big chunky gravel. I got on the throttle a bit hard and the bike washed out beneath me.

Cookie Monster

You crashed the equivalent of a couch. I'm not surprised you were unscathed.

JK, glad to hear you're OK.

A couch can easily snap a tibula/fibula.... that's my main fear during a lowside.

I was worried about it landing on my leg, but when it came to rest on the engine guard and rear guard/luggage mount there was enough room. My gear is just really dusty now

Man, with my current situation, riding is such a PITA.

Stuffing all my gym stuff + shoes in to my backpack and then riding over, getting all sweaty and having my hair look like crap, and then having to leave all my stuff at the office, gear up, go to the gym, deal with my gear at the gym, then gear up after working out while sweaty and cramping, riding back to the office, packing up and then riding home took forever.

I might ride in on days I don't go to the gym (once a week lol), but otherwise I think I'll just ride around on the weekends. With a car I can just throw all my stuff in the trunk and just go to the gym on the way home.

I had to adjust my chain yesterday and it was refreshingly easy. A nice break from figuring out a transmission swap on my car.

Yeah, I've gone down plenty of times and have yet to sustain a major injury. *knocks on wood*

Granted, "going down" on dirt can be as simple as climbing something and laying the bike down because you lost momentum, but...still counts!

Yea, I take a tail bag to the gym and it's awesome. Well, I used to. One day I forgot to tuck my straps and they got chewed up in the wheel. That was fun. But I'll get them replaced soon.

Trick for me was to basically double up on my gym gear. So I just keep a gym bag at work and another gym bag at home. Work gym bag has:

- Shorts (2x)
- Stringers (3x)
- Weight belt
- Triceps chain
- Sneakers
- Headphones
- Straps
- Deodorant
- Towels (changed daily)
- Underwear (changed daily)
- Shaker bottle + liquid water enhancers

I go, do my workout and get back within 1:15, shower and everything. It's an awesome system. I just goofed with my straps rushing out of work one day. It is def quicker with the car but mainly because I have to strap and unstrap- thinking about switching back to my big backpack.

Not a scratch. I did more damage to myself falling off my mtn bike a few years ago.

The worst 2 injuries I've experienced from motorcycling were on a dirtbike.  I also kept the bike on two wheels for both.

Out of curiosity...what were the injuries?

Out of curiosity...what were the injuries?

Bad ankle sprains in both cases.

First one, I was just wearing over-ankle hiking boots instead of proper MX boots.  Hit a small jump and I got kicked.  The bike went higher than I was expecting and my feet were popped off the pegs.  When I landed, my very tippy-toes came down on the pegs and both feet folded backwards violently.  Couldn't bear any weight on my left foot and my right could only bear about half my body weight, so I was on crutches for about a week and then limping for another.  I think it was about a month before I was close to 100%

Second time I was wearing appropriate gear but I snagged my left toe on a rock or a rut while taking a corner and turned my ankle pretty badly and ended my riding season.  Felt all kinds of unpleasant popping and tearing when it happened, so I knew it wasn't going to be good.  First ride of the season, too.  I was on crutches for at least a week and even after I could walk on it, it hurt too badly to anything more vigorous than walk for about 3-4 months.  Any kind of jolt aggravated it and I ended up re-injuring it a few times doing simple stuff like hopping down off of ladders or stepping awkwardly on uneven terrain.  I think it was maybe September before it felt good enough to ride again.  I got one ride in and it still wasn't 100%.

Damn.  I think ankle/knee/wrist injuries are my biggest fears, just because there's so much bullshit that can happen.  Breaking bones isn't a big deal, but tearing up ligaments and tendons and shit...no thank you.

Cookie Monster

My hand and ankle still aren't completely back to normal. Sometimes they'll have some aches, especially while lifting.

I don't know if my collarbone will ever get back to normal.

I had a knee injury when I was ~12 from soccer.  Landed right on it and broke off a chunk of cartilage in my knee...couldn't straighten it out so I was limping around while everybody told me it was a "sprain" until I finally got an MRI.  Cast for a month, crutches for another, PT, etc.  Used to be left-leg dominant until that.  It'll never be 100%.  Every once in a while I'll get brief pains/aches after strenuous physical activity or certain movements...more like soreness than the sharp pain I had when it happened, but...fuck.  Makes you baby it ever so slightly, which doesn't really help.

MrH

Yep. Once you get a serious injury, it's not really 100% again. I have a dislocating knee cap problem. Left knee got really bad in college, so I finally got surgery to fix it. Left leg atrophied from the surgery, so I favored jumping off the right a lot. I've got a torn miniscus in the right one. Eventually it needs to get scoped.

It's hard to get everything totally balanced after surgery.

Did about 150 miles today. Mostly dirt roads. Went farther from home than I ever have on the bike.  Scoped out a spot for dirt bike camping in a couple weeks.  Definitely found home base.  Filled up near the destination...got about 85mpg.  Easily coulda gone there and back on one tank (2.7 gal) but I didn't know and didn't wanna risk it. 😂

Cookie Monster

Nice!

I put the Hindle full exhaust on and straightened out the front a bit. OMG the bike rides so nice now.

I love the way it sounds.
