It could be an interesting lemons entry. Too bad you paid $1500 too much.

I'm not dumping thousands of dollars into that. I'd rather race a 924 or RX-7.

I think your best bet is demolition derby. It would be great at that!

I think you should put tiny wheels on it, stance it, bag it, get some megabass going, and then get one of those tiny chrome steering wheels. Also hang a stuffed animal from that back. And truck nutz.

That's actually pretty cool.

But Soup should just do every mod any ricer/stancer/lowriderer has ever done. Huge wing, blue headlights, etc. That, or make it a donk.

Was it the side by side seats or the rear facing? I think the side by sides were all Fords.

Side-by-side, like the green one in the pic you posted.

I remember a friend in HS had one of these type of station wagons with a 3rd row seating back seat.. that thing was damn scary to rid in but shit, you can fit A LOT of people in it.

Yeah I'm fairly certain I remember 4 of those little monsters squeezing into the back seat on more than one occasion. Seems like we don't have as many options for 8+ passenger seating nowadays. I guess people had more kids back then.

Yeah, it'll be the daily driver. Wife has pretty much given up trying to make me accept modern, normal, socially acceptable cars. My daily commute is pretty short, so gas isn't much of an issue.

I'm really hoping one winter doesn't do it a lot of damage. The tin worm hasn't attacked it much yet, and I plan on keeping it that way. Next winter? Well, we'll see when that arrives.

Fake wood, so I only have to worry about fake termites, or some sort of mutant insect that eats vinyl and fiberglass.

Only if you don't mind cleaning the undercarriage until it is sparkling clean before you apply it.

I would rather get it reasonably clean, then liberally coat it in

On the outside?  An oil rub should actually bring out some real color in the wood siding.

The only rust that's started is around the wheel arches. It looks like somebody rubbed the right quarter panel on something and broke off the wheel well  trim, tearing the trim mount bolts in the process, and that's where the rust is.

Yes, even the undercarriage and floorpans are pretty shiny and new.
