Thompson's water seal on the wood should protect it.

Perhaps you could acquire some new heads and a cam so you could rev past thirty-two fucking hundred rpm.

Do they still have cheap 5.0 HO motors in the junkyard?

Yeah, parts look pretty easy to get overall. Not surprisingly, nobody lists any availablity for anything whatsoever under "Grand Marquis LS Colony Park," but internet station wagon folks confirm that pretty much all Mustang parts fit just fine.

Not surprising, because there's enough room in the engine bay to smuggle Mexicans in.
First things first though.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

If you're going to swap motors, may as well go for a 351.

Yes, because that's exactly what the 2014 Lexus IS needs. Wood-simulation vinyl siding.

Wait, is the original pic actually the thing you bought? How does that exist in the rustwest?

Yes, it is the exact one: its the dealer's photo, but that's the one. I don't have any of mine yet, because, well: its still at the dealer.

I put a deposit down, but couldn't complete the paperwork before I had to go to work Friday afternoon.

Does the rear window roll down?

I grew up with a Pontiac Safari that looked a lot like your new Marquiswagon (amazing how little they evolved after an entire decade!) When we had to haul 2x4s we would stick them out the back. The low pressure would fill the passenger compartment with exhaust gas so we made sure to only take shallow breaths the whole trip back home.

Yes, it does. I'll install sidepipes to prevent that from happening.

But yeah, this same body style went virtually unchanged from '79 to '91.

I've got to wonder why Wimmer doesn't fawn over full-sized 90s Volvos (850, 940, etc).  Same styling philosophy as late 70s and 80 American cars.

Nah, they somehow did a much nicer job with mostly straight lines.

They don't have that visual character like a '70s or '80s American wagon.

57000 miles. Wow. What a find. I'd probably consider one too if I could find one with such low miles. I just couldn't park it at my house.

Does the odometer have five or six digits? IIRC, my dad's and brother's F-150s from this era both had five digits...my brother's '87 F-150 more likely had 270k than 70k.

Five, but every bit of the condition of the car makes me believe that it is 57, not 157.

Yeah. That definitely looks more like 57k opposed to 157k.

That's not really a vote of confidence when the manufacturer thinks the car won't even last past 99,999 miles.
