The 6T75. They've acknowledged the problem on the 2007-09 models, but they didn't fix it for the later models either. They say they have: they haven't.

If it makes you feel better, Ford uses this transmission too.

The '09 Escape that my daughter has that my wife had previously, has had no problems after 215000+ kilometers.  Could be a weight thing.

2. That transmission is not great. It fails like clockwork on the LAMBDA cars, but it's not uncommon to see it dead in a 3.6L Saturn VUE or 3.6L Chevy Malibu.

I think we can all agree that GM cars suck and there's no reason to buy GM ever, except perhaps a Corvette. 

The "real people" ads alone are enough to make never want to get a GM product, before you even add in the fact that they're shitty, poorly designed, and probably will kill you.
