Renault has always made their small economy cars look stunning in hot hatch form.  :mrcool:

What's interesting here is that the speedometer is in mph, but the odometer is in km/h...

1985 Renault R5 Turbo 2 Evolution Is The Perfect Hot Hatch

Throughout the decades, the car industry has produced a number of exceptionally memorable cars, particularly when it comes to hot hatches.

Whether it's the original Volkswagen Golf GTI, Peugeot 205 GTI or what we have here, the Renault R5 Turbo, classic hot hatches are some of the most desirable cars on the used car market.

This particular R5 Turbo is the rare and particularly potent Turbo 2 Evolution and is currently for sale on Bring A Trailer with a $60,000 highest bid.

Only 200 examples were produced for customers globally and just a handful were imported to the United States. Like the others, the hatch is powered by a 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission. It also has an exceptionally aggressive persona thanks to the boxy, flared wheel arches and the optional Cibie Super Oscar driving lamps, making it absolutely perfect for rallying.

Like the exterior, the cabin has been well kept and combines tan upholstery and carpets with a black dashboard, center console, and armrests. There's also an aftermarket boost gauge and hiding right behind the seats is that punchy four-cylinder.

So cool. On a similar note, I'd do terrible things for a Renaultsport Clio V6.
