"Stage II" on a N/A motor? (Nah.)

I think the best car Subaru ever built was the 3rd gen Outback XT 5MT - perfect size, great utility, good performance. Real shame they don't do anything like that now:

Right, because NA engines don't use a computer to control fuel/air. C'mon.

Yeah I don't get it... :(

There were multiple people who showed up on the Utah SCCA Facebook page asking about rules and classing info for their car which had ridiculous lightbars on them and other crap like that, nothing which would help them go fast.

SCCA's rules for what is considered a modification can be a little nonsensical.  I'd have to double check the latest rule book, but it used to be that debadging your car would take you out of stock.

Also, that Miata owner wasn't asking about the light bar, but all of the other mods (coilovers, wheels, and wing).  Suspension and wheels would put it in street touring.  Wing would likely put it in street mod or street prepared.

Yeah, a lot of people on the forums and Facebook groups are having issues with the orange paint. The chips started before I even started off roading the car (within a thousand miles), and honestly while off roading the speeds are generally slow enough that the front of my car isn't getting pelted with stuff.

I was going to get a clear vinyl bra but spent the money on the wheels and tires instead.

Idk, I just have this one:

The entire light bar setup was like $80. It's not DOT legal and is bright as fuck.

Yeah I don't get it... :(

I've been looking at one for a while.  How hard was it to setup/instal?

Not hard at all in my case. I bought my roof box for $100 used so I had no problem drilling holes into it. Amazon sells light bars with different mounting options, so you might want to get one with side brackets instead of top brackets if you want to mount on your roof rack.

I also got this wiring harness:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074GWMRGD/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The harness just routes down the side of the windshield. It fits perfectly so I didn't have to use any glue or anything to get it to fit:

The hardest part honestly was getting the harness through one of the grommets in the firewall. I also got a different button style switch and mounted that in my fuse box door, and also got some waterproof connectors to connect the light to the harness (so I can remove the light and/or roof box if I want).

PM me if you have any specific questions.

Finally drove/detailed one of these the other day.  Nice car, very Subaru (obviously).  Can confirm the slowness.

Jesus Christ I regret using the word "dangerous" now.

It was partly exaggeration, partly disbelief that a new car is still this slow. I'm used to slower cars (never even owned anything above 200 hp, hell above even 170 hp), but this is slower than pretty much everything except the Volvo I had.

It also has a problem where it stumbles and stutters at 2500 rpm or so, and stumbles up to about 4000 rpm before it finally gets going, and in this time it's basically not accelerating at all, so yes, I'd still say it's "dangerously" slow when I'm trying to accelerate onto the highway and the engine is stuttering and stumbling. Others have had the same issue as well, but no one knows what's causing it yet, and it doesn't happen often enough for me to be able to replicate it at a dealership.

Also lol @ WRX swapping a new car. I don't have the skill or money to do that even if I wanted to.
Needs a turbo .
