Looks terrible in my opinion. I was hoping it would look better in person, but no.  :frown:

Depends on the angle.  The rear and rear quarters look pretty good, the front looks very pedestrian.

It's a Japanese design. I kind of get it. Didn't say it's beautiful, just I get it. It's very likely a damn good driver.  :muffin:

Looks great. The lack of manual is a death sentence though IMO.

It and the Z4 have too short of wheelbase compared to overhangs and it looks like ass

Laconian

I dunno if it's the overhangs, but it seems like there's just too many brushstrokes on too small a canvas.

The only Supra I ever liked is the 1980-1981 Toyota Celica Supra. Not a "real" Supra in that sense but styling wise I thought it was pretty hot. Lovely Liftback design. :ohyeah:

A relative of my father had this car as a 1979 model in Germany and as a kid I always admired the car when we visited him.

I still don't see the value proposition of this over a 370Z Sport

Between the Supra and the Z4, it's no contest. Z4.

I honestly think both look good.  When it comes to styling, that isn't this cars problem, IMO, its the engine.  More specifically, the fact that not only does it not have a Toyota powertrain, but it doesn't even have the more powerful 385HP BMW engine.  Its stuck in a weird no-mans land where it costs about as much as something like an M2 but can't outgun it.

Optioned out, it gets into Porsche Cayman territory. The Supra of 25 years ago at $40k only made sense to wealthy fanboys, and this Supra at $60k doesn't even have that fanboy support with it being built by BMW with a BMW engine.

If I were in charge, I would have updated the 86/BRZ with Subaru, and developed a 300hp turbo STi/Supra priced at $35-40k, with AWD and manual options, along with the 200hp $27k base car.

Sorta. This thing is faster than an M2 around the N'Ring. So it sure outhandles the M2. Reviews will be out in a couple of days.

Is it though?  All quick Googling shows me is that the chief engineer thinks it could go around the ring in 7:40 but nothing official.  And even if that time actually happened, its only 10 seconds faster than what I see an M2 Comp putting down which feels like noise/driver skill/weather conditions for the day than a superior driving machine.

10 seconds is not nothing but it's definitely unoconfirmed. We´ll see very soon. It has to be a great great handler/fun to drive car to succeed IMO.

BMW's latest design language looks uninspired and disproportioned. Maybe it's because of the fixed roof but I like the cleaner styling of the Supra.
