I see this is one of the higher traffic areas of the forum, but I thought I'd add a thread anyway. How about posting a bike that you really want and then posting why you want it?

Triumph Speed Triple. After having ridden its little brother, the Street Triple, I'm totally in love with the ergonomics, handling, and engine sound of these bikes. The full-naked setup actually reduces wind buffeting to my helmet, and the experience is pretty much breathtaking. I'd be happy with the Street Triple as well, but generally speaking a liter bike will most likely be my next purchase.
Street Triple R. I took one on a long test ride a few years back and it was about as close to perfect as motorcycles get. Excellent seating position, telepathic handling, and the sound...oh what a sound. It's the only bike I'll let replace my SV, but not until I've paid off my Kizashi.

I like sport bikes, but for some reason I've been loving this thing lately.
One hell of a cruiser.

It's legit.
S1000RR!!! Busa speed without Busa weight! HP4 versions have electronic suspension and Launch control among other goodies!

There are all sorts of bikes I'd like, but the most likely to be in my garage next is a Ninja 1000 ABS (Z1000SX). Comfortable riding position of my current bike in a lighter, more powerful package with sleeker looks and much better suspension components.

I want something cheap, Japanese, sporty and with a liter V-twin. In the mean time I'm thinking about converting my bike back to a streetfighter  New setup is OK but doesn't really protect from the wind, and is pretty damn uncomfortable. Gonna sell the setup I have now and most likely get an FZ1 light and Trail Tech gauge..
Those RC51 are hard to find at the rite price. Either the owner wants a mint for them or they're beat to shit......

I already have a commuter bike, so:

Always wanted a Buell. However theres a purple speed triple at the dealership down the street from my house.
And Vmaxes sound insane with open headers
Buell is like the Saab of motorcycles. Def an acquired taste

Hey, I like saabs. Don't go trashing on them.
The only thing wrong with buells are the crappy harley motors.
Buell isn't owned by Harley anymore. They still use twins but they aren't from Harley anymore.

Where do they source motors from? Kohler?
Seriously there aren't alot of companies that just happen to sell bike motors.
I'm guessing japanese?
I thought Buell was out of business?

I believe they're using Rotax motors. That was what they were using in the 1125 before H-D killed the brand.
That said, the new Buell company isn't mass producing motorcycles, and they are largely focused on producing race bikes (not street legal). They've only produced one street legal model to date and they only made 100 of them.

After Harley killed the brand, Erik Buell founded Erik Buell Racing. Technically a different company.

No knock on Saab. They just had very similar trajectories. Owned and pillaged by American companies and tossed to the side. Weird shit (the inboard calipers, the weird fairings). Etc. etc.

I never had one when I was a teenager.
For me, my dreams are being haunted by Triumph Scramblers.

The newer BMW stuff is amazing.
That BMW looks awesome.
For me, I'd like an adventure bike like this.

As much as I talk about wanting to replace the Bandit with an N1K, this is why I have such a hard time going to a different bike
Suzuki GSX1250FA: Stump Puller! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mk30A9ePj6A#ws)
I loves me that torque.

I'd love it in a more retro color scheme, like the red and white, but damn, look at that shape.

Yeah, those are pretty rad bikes.
Yea those Scramblers are pretty fucking cool. They get their style from flat track racing bikes. No front brakes because apparently in the dirt everything is done with the throttle and speeds aren't that high.

And yea MX793 now that I'm out in the open I def don't need as nimble a bike... the old 1200s are dirt cheap, I'd love to pick one up as a 2up bike but wifey and I just prefer to ride in the cars now.

The Scrambler is actually styled to resemble early dirtbikes or trail/enduro bikes, not dirt-trackers. Note the high-up placement of the pipes which helps keep the pipe out of water when crossing streams or deep puddles. Also provides some protection if you bottom the case out on a rock or log (which can crush a low-mounted pipe). Some dirt trackers have run high pipes, but many don't. Dirtbikes with low pipes are more uncommon.
Interesting stuff. I always thought it was styled in the vein of the bike Steve McQueen rode in The Great Escape. Either way, it's so pretty, looks so cool, and isn't a super aggressive bike-from-the-future like a lot of sport bikes are. I mean, I understand why sport bikes look that way, but it's not really my style anymore.

Which was a 1962 Thunderbird Triumph, styled to somewhat superficially resemble a BMW R700 (which actually existed at that time, while the Triumphs would not have).
Most of the bikes in the movie were Triumphs actually, at McQueen's request.

Part of it was at McQueen's request. The other part was that a period-correct BMW didn't have the power/weight ratio of the newer Triumphs and would not have been capable of completing the famous barbed wire fence jump stunt.

Yes, but any number of different modern bikes could have. That they ended up being Triumphs was probably MCQueen's doing.

valve springs are for suckers
1100 is nice
Heard Duc is looking to introduce valve springs in the future though. Desmo is too damn expensive

Gotta admire Buell's perseverance. I hope some shit up there gets aligned and Buell bikes stick around this time.420 pounds wet with 185 hp v-twin? That'd do some serious damage to the ducati/bmw/augusta's of the world.
For a commuter, and a weekend dragon toy, I would like a new Ninja 250.
