Interesting that the engine was moved slightly forward in respect to the rear axle. The advantage that the 911 always had on the race track was due to braking as the rear wheels contributed significantly more to braking, due to the rear engine overhanging the rear axle, than a front or mid engine car. This may be down to the genius of Ferdinand Porsche Jr.
