Judging how long a car will last off of the experience of one car is stupid.

Immaculate condition. 55, 000 miles.
It has so much I am probably leaving out a lot. All work done by professionals. Very particular.

[ Body ]- It has all original sheet metal, no rust, as you can see from pictures the car is very straight
It has Shelby quarter windows and functional brake scoops, and Shelby hood
[ Interior ]- The interior is like new. The dash pod has a real Shelby tach and oil pressure gauge. Cobra steering wheel.JVC 6 speaker stereo CD player

[ Engine ]- Completely redone from top to bottom GT 40 cast iron heads, MSD electronic ignition, Holly 650 double pumper and Eldebrock high rise intake , underdrive pulley system, Griffin 4 row aluminum radiator with spiral fan, Eldebrock high flow water pump, headers and real Shelby side exhaust, Dino'd at 350 horsepower, 7 quart engine pan

[ Transmission ]- T-5 King Cobra clutch, McCloud fly wheel, modern clutch linkage set-up, new drive shaft, rear end has 411 Richmond possi unit

[ Suspension ]- 4 wheel power disc brakes, GT 4 piston calipers on front, Quick ratio steering box, 1 inch sway bars front and back, underride Shelby traction bars in rear, big piston Koni shocks all around, 620 springs in front, Car is lowered 1 inch in rear, Magnum rims , brand new Firestones

Looks good, but not quite right.  Window louvers are missing, and the tail's wrong.  Definitely wouldn't pay 35 grand for it.

And for the life of me, I'll never understand for sale adverts where there are no prices listed.

This is an 84 CJ-7 that is very clean and straight. It however needs finished. The motor is an AMC 360 that is rebuilt with 0 miles that sounds great. It has an elelbrock performer intake and new larger tubed Hedman fenderwell headers. The tranny is a T-176 with a new clutch set up. Axles are widetracks with 3:31. Frame is perfect on this CJ with no rust or repairs ever. Body has some light bondo but is overall solid. The front drivers floor pan was replaced, but passenger is still solid. Fits 35's very nice. 4" suspension, 1" shackle, and 3" body lift. 35" boggers in photo are not included. What this CJ needs. rear brake lines, seats installed, front end wiring hooked up, Wheels and tires, and possibly a few other minor repairs that I can't think off. I would consider a running reliable YJ for trade. Also looking for a 100# plus anvil. I am located about an hour south of Pittsburgh. e-mail or call for more info. Thanks, Jason 724-323-4028

1987 Buick Grand National GNX #158 - $65000
Reply to: sale-474916058@craigslist.org
Date: 2007-11-10, 4:06PM EST

THE FINAL ULTIMATE GRAND NATIONAL

For sale is this 1987 GNX #158 that is in like new condition inside and out! The car comes with a window sticker, manual and books. Never raced, but has some GNX upgrades that include a newer brake sensor, Kenne Bell elbow and plenumn, adjustable waste gate, 3? down pipe, equal length stainless headers and a T49 turbo! The car has completely been serviced and ready to drive home. Such as: oil change, A/C service, brakes checked and etc. We still retain the stock air plenum. It has under gone a complete strip and dismantled $10,000 paint job from Fantastic Finish! This paint job is nothing more than perfection! The interior is all original and perfect. The pictures speak for themselves.

When Buick added an "X" to a model designation, one could assume that it meant something special. Recall the 1970 GSX which was an appearance modification of the Gran Sport. In the case of that "X" machine, the changes were strictly on the outside, but that wouldn't be the case with the GNX. There was one similarity, though, between the two machines, that being the bigger "X" in the three-letter emblem.

For many, the GNX is the most desirable some-what modern performance car in the country. It took the second-best performance car in the 1987 Grand National and made it a giant step better. With all its positives, there is one large negative from a collector's point of view. There were only 547 produced, which makes the GNX very rare and very expensive. It has been reported, for example, that GNX models have reached the six-figure values in 1990s sales. Experts advise any lucky GNX owner to keep his car as they are predicted to continually escalate through the years.

The refinement that the GNX received in so many different areas is truly amazing. A speed shop couldn't have done a better job. Acquiring a 31hp increase over the standard Grand National engine was a significant accomplishment. Consider, of course, that most factory announcements of horsepower are quite conservative by nature, so the actual figure is probably much closer to the 400 or greater figure.

The GNX was not a complete factory creation as aftermarket modifications were accomplished by McLaren Engines and ASC Inc. But even though there was this influence, it's generally agreed that Buick engineer Dave Sharpe was the guiding influence behind the GNX. He wanted the Regal line to end with a bang. With the GNX, he succeeded in a big way!

A final statement of its performance: 103mph and 13.4 sec in the quarter says it all.

Meticulously cared-for, two-owner, twin-turbo Touring edition, with performance and reliability enhancements. All recalls & TSBs performed. Car comes with most of the stock parts that were upgraded. Always garage-kept. You can even still catch a wiff of that new-car smell after all these years! Over $55K invested. New baby "forces" sale because we need another car capable of transporting a family and I don't want to keep the car outside. Complimentary life-long membership to the West Penn Mazda Club and free track driving instruction (if desired). This car has it all and can do it all, including being used as a daily driver (on nice days, of course).
