Title: ITS ALIVE!
Post by: SargeMonkey on November 21, 2005, 07:28:35 AM
Allright, you know that 79 cvcc in my sig? Well I got it running over the wekend, and it needs some more work. The radiator is fairly thrashed, kinda crusty on the inside. Also the temp stedaly rises and the cap steams. It also makes a little rattle sound every once in a while but on a regular basis.
Other then instaling the aircleaner, it has vacume lines on it, and maybe carpet should be running better by this weekend.
I'll stick some pics up tommarow if I don't forget.

Just replace the radiator. It shouldn't cost too much.

Maybe you could just take the radiator out and run some CLR through it =P

Remove the thermostat. Pull the upper and lower rad hoses and flush the bugger out with your garden hose.

You can try and flush the rad the same way, or just replace it if you can get one cheap.

You can try some of that rad flush stuff, but I never have so I can't comment on that.

Well heres a new one. We had the cap off, and got it up to temp. My dad hopped in, caps off and hoods up, and straitened it out in the drive way. Moved like 10 feet. Well it idled for a few secends, then pucked out of the rad inlet. Just a tad bit. Then it all came out in about 6 inch green gyseres. 4 or so then I killed it. So what happened? Me and my dad are stumped, we think it has some ting to do with the thermastat.
