1,000-Mile 1991 Dodge Stealth R/T Twin-Turbo Has Sweet Looks, Sour Price

Those of you who are nostalgic for the 1990s will become even more so after seeing this mint-condition 1991 Dodge Stealth R/T Twin-Turbo.

Better known as the Mitsubishi 3000GT worldwide and Mitsubishi GTO in Japan, the sports coupe (technically a hatchback) was also sold as the Dodge Stealth as part of a deal with Chrysler which needed a halo performance car in its lineup before the introduction of the Viper.

Regardless of the badging, the Japanese sports car was a technological showcase featuring stuff like all-wheel drive, four-wheel steering, digital climate control system, steering wheel-mounted radio controls and an optional CD changer, among other things. Bear in mind we're talking about 1991 when most of these features were very rare.

In the range-topping twin-turbo model, power came from a 3.0-liter V6 (6G72) gasoline engine making 300 HP (304 PS) and 308 lb-ft (417 Nm) of torque. Matched to a five-speed manual, the potent power plant enabled the Dodge Stealth R/T to sprint from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in around 5-6 seconds – depending on which car magazine you read at the time.

That was quick for 1991 and is still quicker than some modern hot hatches. This long introduction brings us to a stunning Dodge Stealth R/T claimed to have only 1,050 miles (1,690 km) under its belt.

Combining an all-white exterior (including the five-spoke alloy wheels) with a red leather interior, this 1991 Dodge Stealth is up for sale in Cleveland, Ohio at Marshall Goldman Motor Sales for $32,900. While that's hardly pocket change, the seller argues that cars with this mileage and in this condition are extremely rare.

Furthermore, it's fully loaded with features like all-wheel drive, original Mitsubishi head unit and stereo, optional CD changer (a $278 option in 1991), multifunction steering wheel and more. Tempted?

Eh, if Mk4 Supras can hit 6 figures, why not. The Stealth/3000GT twins were good looking and technically advanced sports GTs when they came out, but there's not much modern enthusiasm for them like the Supra or Nissan 300ZX. The 3000GT might be an exception... I wouldn't mind having one, but not for this price.

A clean, decently running driver Supra will command $30,000 or more. A same generation RX-7 will run at least in the $20s, and a 300ZX TT will be at least high teens for a good one. A same year, same condition 3000GT will be $7000 - $12,000, and a Stealth R/T can be had for $4000-$7000.

This car just never really set the world on fire like the other Japanese sports cars of the era did.  It was heavy, kinda bland, and not that great of performer.  Base cars were FWD too I believe and it just felt like no reason to really get this over a DSM or EVO of the era unless you really really wanted the V6.

1,000 miles?  Well worth the $33k to somebody out there.  Any car from 1991 with 1,000 miles on it is gonna be worth $33k to somebody.

Well, this is more than clean and decently running. Its hard to set a price on any car that may he the best one left in the country. Somebody will buy it, and whatever they buy it for, that will be the price ceiling for these for a while.

I used to live in walking distance of Marshall Goldman! They have lots of nice exotics! One day the had a F40, F50 and an Enzo in the showroom at the same time! As far as this car goes I'd spend that money on a C7 and call it a day!

My neighbor had a black 3000GT VR4... Staring at the thing at the bus stop every morning probably turned me into an enthusiast

My friend's dad (anaesthesologist nurse) had a VR4 in the garage. I was totally entranced by the active aero.
