Can't see it...pic isn't working.
I have a couple good ones, but it could be a couple days before I get my software set up for my camera on this computer. And hopefully, since my camera's battery charger blew up today (yes, I had it running through a high-wattage capable convertor, and my shaver has run fine for days on it), I won't lose the ability to take pictures.

The paint is excellent and so is the vinyll, But the dash leaves a lot to be desired (there is a big whole in the top) and it has a few mechanical problems (ac is out and it has a small oil leak around the right valve cover). It did have well over $400 worth of brake work done to it last week though.

I'm from the south, I've been mud running since I was 10. The only mud running this truck will do at this height is on it's side. You see there are these things called ruts and when one side of this truck at this height entered one it would be all over. All height does for the mud runner is keep you dry and if you don't have a snorkel the engine as well. Also his radiator is not mounted in the bed, he's no mud runner. This is a show truck and the wheels are probably the dirtiest they've ever been in this pic.

I've got an 84 that I've been throwing money at for a few years now. I was looking for an 85 the first with fuel injection but at the time couldn't find one. I'll end up pulling the engine anyway so I figured I would just go with the 84. So far I've removed the bed and caged a new one with diamond bright, it now has a great departure angle. I'm running 5.29 gears turning 40" Boggers, it's no rock crawler but it's a mud hog. Future plans are to replace axles to Dana 60s front and rear and run 4.56 gears with 44" Boggers. This much meat underneath will be in need of a small block 400 under the hood and a NP205 Tcase. I have so much fun in that thing when we go to the hunting camp.

Has anyone ever seen an 18-wheeler fail to stop and have to go up one of those hills made for this reason?
I saw a truck sitting up one of those lanes in Colorado on the backside of the mountain out of Denver. He plowed through a good 2 ft of snow for about 500ft before he stopped.
Wow :o It makes you wonder how incredibly fast the truck must have been going before reaching the hill.
The problem I saw there was that the runout lanes werent very close together. If you lost your brakes as you passed one you might be doing 100 mph by the time you got to the next one. Now toss in a 40k lbs of freight and that's a lot of energy.

Sweet, people are silly to purchase Chevrolet when they go to GMC and get better incentives for the same ride. I've had several GMCs and they've all been really good to me. Except one that blew a head gasket that took me a while and a pint of blood to fix.
So GMCs are usually more heavily discounted? I didn't know that, actually. I was looking at Sierras over Silverados purely based on exterior styling (I don't really like the Chevy's front fascia).

I'm with you, the squinting cartoon character isn't for me either. Yes, typically GMC will offer more off the vehicle in negotiation as well as have better interest rates. At least in our market it is the norm.

I really hope I can sell the Tahoe, though. I haven't gotten a single call in the week that it's been for sale.

How are you marketing it?
There's a local used car lot in town. You have to get a permit to put it on the lot, and the permits last for seven days.
It's called the Lemon Lot, of all things.

Park it at the local Wal-Mart, you'll get rid of it in a few days. You can't argue with their traffic, plus it's truck traffic too.

He'll also have the windows smashed in and any existing audio equipment stolen along with a smashed up dash. That is, if his Wal-Mart is anything like mine.

Take it to one of the nicer areas with a Wal-Mart, not the compton Wal Mart.

No, but I know a lot of people who have gotten crap stolen out of their car, locked or not, because of location. Mostly friends with Civics who put in expensive stuff.

Good ol' 350.
So, do you like to slide around in it? You know, when it rains?
No posi track it would dog leg like a bitch. That 12 bolt rear is not up to the task.
QuoteNo posi track it would dog leg like a bitch. That 12 bolt rear is not up to the task.
Yea i would like to put a posi track in it...these one wheel burnouts get annoying..that truck is almost impossible to slide...unless its wet and theres alot of oil on the road...i can get it to slide a little on the entry to my gravel driveway...but its tricky not to go over board and slide into the fence right next to the driveway
Here's one I'm familiar with.

Mr. Breeze, which type of Humvee did you go in or drive. I mean the military has many, many different configured Humvees.
He drove the one with the turrent on top, he was known as Master Blaster.
QuoteHe drove the one with the turrent on top, he was known as Master Blaster.
 I was in a anti aircraft missile launcher one, and one with a turret on top. But I never drove one.
Drive it like you stole it.
Here's my 1986 Ford "Power" Ranger 4x2. It has the V6, and it's a real sleeper (the V6 badges fell off). The lightweight plastic grille is zip tied on for weight savings (and because the crossmember to which it was bolted was bent from an accident).
Driver-oriented interior complete with bench seat, genuine plastic wood, AM/FM cassette, vinyl floor, and 85 mph speedometer. I added that steering wheel cover for a sporty touch.

This beast also has beefy 195/75/14 tires mounted on 14" steel rims! The chrome wheel arches are an elegant touch. Notice the patented "speed holes" in the side of the fenders.
Seriously, it's actually pretty quick as it has the 2.9L EFI V6 with a 5 speed Mazda transmisson. It only weighs 2638 lbs!

My brother's truck has the same stuff and it doesn't resemble real wood of any type.
It is EPA rated at 19 city 24 highway.

I wouldn't sell it.
A.) I don't hold the title to it.
B.) I need it for the winter, times when the Z is being worked on, and long trips.
C.) I don't want to buy another cheap car like the Saab.
It only has 108k miles on it and my dad takes good care of his vehicles. Where could I going to get a vehicle this reliable for what this truck is worth?
QuoteYou want a truck like mine?
Possibly, they are cheap to buy, have cheap parts, and apparantly get decent fuel economy. They are also readily available.

And you are a smart man, my S15 is still at my parents house. Someone could get in it and drive wherever they wanted without any troubles. It's all about preventative maintenance.

So other than some rust(surface, right?) it's mechanically solid with low mileage and for what it's worth I'd be stupid to sell a prefectly functional truck...
What if I came by and offered $143,755 and a turkey sandwich?
It's not surface rust when it has "speed holes". ;)
What does the turkey sandwich have on it? I do like turkey.
Any condiment you desire ;)
just a tiny bit of pepper.
