I've read enough articles to be pretty pumped. It looks like they really sweated the details.

It's not a car I'd buy for myself, but I'd surely rent it for Moab, but I am pretty happy about Ford lighting a fire under Jeep's smug dinosaur butt.

I'm sure FCA will respond by simply dropping an enormous engine under the hood of the Wrangler, since that's been the extent of their new vehicle development over the past decade.  Hold onto your butts, here comes the new SRT Demon Red Hellcat Eye Wrangler Dunehawk Trail Runner.  It will make 804 horsepower and be the most powerful vehicle with removable doors and a fold down windshield.

Chevy dropped the ball! This is what The Blazer should have been! Looks cool AF!

Yep. Bronco rules. Blazer is a friggin joke.

I believe I would want the "Sasquatch Package" mainly just for the name.

35" tires are a bit overkill for most purposes methinks.

Can't wait for some tuner outfit like Shelby to do a hot rod version called King Squatch.

I think FCA should be shitting their pants right now and just hope the Jeep image can keep it afloat... Otherwise their last 3 decades of lazyness will bite them.

I mean really, outside of the image the Wrangler is an enormously expensive vehicle that drives like utter shit with an utter shit interior and utter shit build quality to match.

This and the wrangler are both really good deals for what you get if highway driving isn't much of a concern.  Especially the bone stock base models.  I'd enjoy driving around with the doors and roof off.  These are really the antithesis to the tank-like tiny greenhouse sedans and giant SUVs, putting the driver into the environment.

LOL.  My brother was telling me about a friend who is a typical glutton-for-punishment FCA buyer (actually, friend's wife is).  Friend's wife MUST have a Jeep Wrangler.  Long time fan, probably the only type of vehicle she's ever owned.  He gets one with the steering wobble at speed.  His wife is afraid to drive it.  It spends weeks in the dealer as they try to sort it out.  He finally gets it lemon lawed, and then instead of learning and buying something that doesn't have a reputation for death wobble, they go right out and buy another Jeep Wrangler, which of course also has steering wobble

Almost as bad as the Ram truck fanbois.  Found a thread on a RAM truck board about their newer 1500 Ecodiesel trucks spontaneously combusting and FCA denying warranty coverage.  One guy replaced his with another, despite FCA screwing him over and denying his warranty claim, because "he liked the truck before it went up in smoke" and "the dealer felt bad about how FCA stiffed him" and offered him a sweet deal.

Nice vehicle. I hope Ford can make it as relatively problem free as the new Ranger.

The base model with the steelie wheels and blacked out grille is, IMO, the best looking one.

Part of me really wants an Outer Banks just to drive on the beaches in the outer banks...

But seriously, the looks are good inside and out.  Cargo room as listed looks really good for the size.  If it doesn't drive like ass (Wrangler) I could see me replacing the JGC with one.

Agree with the Defender. They royally messed that up.

I like the Defender, but I agree it should have been a bit more basic and significantly cheaper. Base should have been $3,000-5,000 less than a Discovery Sport.

The current camper weighs just over 5000 lbs dry- loaded, its close to 6000. The LC is rated at 6500, but its not a good tow vehicle. That camper is in fact a bit cramped for 6 people, and I'd like to have the option to upsize.

I also tow a boat that weighs around 3500. That tows really nicely over the road, and even up mountains and such; but pulling it out of the water is a bit dodgier than I'd like, especially on some of the steeper ramps that are covered with algae and slippery.

Thing is, Jeep people claim all solid front axle vehicles are prone to death wobble. I have never experienced it on any other than a later model Wrangler. Not even old, farm grade vehicles that were otherwise complete death traps. Not even on my lifted YJ or the old man's '43 GPW.

I'm not saying it never happens, but man- it is pretty easy to induce on a modern Jeep. Part of me wonders ofnthe oversized wheels (the wheels, not the tires) make it worse.

Morris Minor

I'm wondering if the gray-suited automatons at GM regret squandering the Blazer name on something that sits in the boring leftovers slop bins on dealer lots.

$30k for this dumpy-looking thing (FWD, too)

Quickly looking at sales data, it seems like the Blazer sells decently. And it's probably cheap for GM to make/develop.
