Storm made it home.
It badly needs new shocks, but otherwise drives nicely.

How is wear and tear on the suspension bits, or have you had a chance to check that?

I did an alignment, and everything was in order. I could tell the rear shocks were leaking, but they are basically totally blown. It's a floaty little dinghy.

No, it was down hill

I think the Cadillac converter might be a little stopped up. It seems to lack the full 90 horses on the top end, though it has plenty of pep off the line.

Jeep just hit 220,000 miles last month. Jeep could be the best vehicle I've ever owned, aside from getting 16 MPG.

Sold just before moving. I figured it wasn't worth another trip.

Slight dilemma: should I drive rust-free 2wd Jeep in winter, or buy a beater Scoobaru? Top priority is saving for a house, so Jeep might see a winter.

Second the oil treatment - NH Oil or Fluid Film.  Or get a sprayer and use LPS.

Had the right rear tire blow out today while driving in Hartford. I don't even know what I ran over. I think I can patch it. These 30 inch all terrain tires were almost $200 each. I never thought a city street would give me a blowout.

Wouldn't that put a bit too much stress on the drivetrain?

Not sure how durable that's going to be.  You want something that's pretty sticky and thick.

Also be sure to get an internal frame coater.

I'm not sure of the durability, either; but I work on a shop. I can throw it on a lift and reapply at my leisure.

Just get a sprayer for your air compressor and apply LPS.  Comes in five gallon buckets and will last you an entire winter of road spray.

Maybe next winter. By then, I hope to have a house, and either a Scoobaru or 4wd pickup for winter.
