Electric buses would make a lot of sense for local routes. Mostly stop and go, low speed traffic. Can fit a TON of batteries in the floor. And charge every night. Most school buses are loud and can be heard inside people's houses, so a quiet bus would be appreciated. Although I guess kids have to be more careful in looking for the bus, not relying on hearing it coming.
They're unused most of the time too, so they could be made useful by being plugged into the grid to smooth supply when needed. Mobile Powerwalls
