Been a bit busy, so not resorted to Mr Google (yet!).

I assume it is American and it is probably mid 1930s?

This is really easy! You guys are gonna kick yourself in the head when you figure it out!

Those of us in Europe see the successor models on the road on a daily basis! Yes, the brand is still around! Someone on The Motor has one and I was looking at one a few months ago as a potential next car! Major hint right there.
