If there's any air between the top of the tire and the fender arch, it's too tall.

It's an Optima, not a pony car. Exterminating wheel gap isn't gonna make it cooler.

Pony cars should have wheel gap. This is a rice burner, which should be hella flush.

These wheels are far better looking:

Everything looks better with less wheel gap

To me at least. Which is all that matters

Meh, ride quality and handling is all that matters to me.

For me it's just the amount of work put into the swap. IDK how hard swapping coilovers onto an Optima is, but if it's anything like working on other newer cars, no thanks. I'd save me energy for a cooler car.

Not to bash Optimas. I liked the one I rented.

Some drunk fuck backed into my car.

I was driving for lyft yesterday, at about 12:30 AM. I stopped on the side of the road, in front of a bar, as I was picking up a passenger. I threw on my hazards, and I'm out of traffic. There's a Silverado in front of me. He's illegally parked, but it's honestly irrelevant.

The silverado's brake lights come on. Then the reverse lights. Another Uber/Lyft driver pulls up behind me (it's a busy bar area). i can't really reverse backwards. I beep the horn, and the drunk fuck hits the gas.

ughhhhh

Yeah, I did both. Initially he was cooperative, if not bitchy. But I insisted that the cops come

The guy ditched his truck before the cops came. The cop says "oh yeah, he just didn't want to go to jail."

He would have definitely gotten an OVI if the cops were there. Prolly gone to jail.

:hesaid: :pee:

Step 1: buy government regulated piece of shit gas can
Step 2: throw everything but the gas can in the trash
Step 4: stuff a rag in the hole and use a funnel to pour it
Step 3: make all kinds of evaporative emissions

This has been my favorite gas can.  I have a 2.5-gallon.

Pours like a big ol' Gatorade jug, but much faster.

Soup DeVille

But is completely useless on anything that you have to pour the least bit sideways. Mowers and stuff with the cap directly on top? Fine. A car or anything else? Good luck.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

Yes, you need a funnel for stuff like cars (I always keep one in Taco's toolbox) as the tilt becomes an issue with the short spout.  I just checked, and the spout does reach far enough into Taco to fuel it, but would probably only get about a gallon out of it IF the gas can was full to start...tilt becomes the crux.

I have the type with the nozzle inside... So you unscrew the cap, leave all of the evaporative gas out, reach in and assemble the nozzle while getting your hand all full of gas, then screw the nozzle/cap assembly on and press in to pour.... and then realize as gas is leaking all over the place that the gasket in the nozzle assembly rolled on you during assembly

It's environmentally friendly!!

I have spilled more gasoline from those stupid, spring-loaded nozzles than I ever did with the old nozzles.  How much evaporative emissions are those preventing when you end up dumping 5% of every gallon right on the ground when trying to fill your lawn mower or trimmer or generator?

Even worse, most of the replacement nozzles you'd buy were just as shitty, if not 2x as shitty.  Misfit parts, shit gaskets.  More dumped/wasted fuel.

Soup DeVille

The best solutions I've found are the squat old style metal "safety cans" and Wavian (not Blitz) military style 10 liter cans- which you have to either buy the nozzle for separately, or buy the green "for water only " cans (the "for water only sticker comes off, revealing the "petrol only" stamped into the very metal of the can.)

I brought a conversion kit for my cans. It comes with a regular spout and vent thingy. All you have to do id drill the hole for the vent.

I tried one of those, and it was pretty chintsy. What brand are yours?
