So when Tesla says they believe they "can achieve xxxxx" that's a deceitful lap time and not a goal?  WTF is in the Tesla haterade these days...

Do you know how words work?
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

... Yea, still not seeing a billboard with Tesla claiming an official and EV record setting time...

That was from the independent reporters at the track who regularly time cars... Not Tesla

Tesla conveniently never denied it.  Instead let it sit out there.  Then comes out with this garbage "Data indicates it can achieve" nonsense.

And it made you believe it happened.

More Porsche lies https://www.autoblog.com/2019/03/28/porsche-taycan-sub-8-minute-nurburgring-lap/

Porsche released a video of them actually achieving the goal they clearly stated was a goal originally.

Tesla let rumors swirl and then deceitfully claimed a lap time.

First, there is apparently nothing to back your claim they weren't full laps and it also appears from independant sources that they backed up the time in another session

https://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/car-technology/a29086205/modified-tesla-model-s-beats-porsche-taycan-nurburgring/

Also it looks like they are shooting for an even better time and released some data of the fastest full lap run
https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/tesla-model-s-nurburgring-lap-time-porsche-taycan/

Porsche releases their targets months/years before they take it to the track to hype it up.  Look at the dates on those stories. It's marketing.

The author of that article, Robb Holland, (1) is a professional racecar driver, and (2) published a deeply skeptical article last week about Tesla at the Nurburgring ("The Nürburgring Is No Place For Elon Musk's Bullshit").  Whatever happened this week, it completely changed his mind.  Both articles are super interesting for the author's insider knowledge.

Seems that a huge challenge for Tesla is allocating the right models to the right places for delivery. So I'm wondering if this is one of the rationales behind the traditional dealer model. All those millionss of acres of unsold inventory acting as a buffer.

It's a combination of a home grown, terrible ERP system and a supply chain that can't forecast worth a damn.  Both plague Tesla every day.

The "hypothetical" lap times were documented independently and backed up with additional lap times the next day.  Porsches times were not certified BTW despite the video.  Teslas times were also not partial laps or segmented laps or whatever else your favorite shorty wants to claim.

What are you talking about?  None of what you just said it remotely true.

Porsche's lap isn't "certified" because there is no class record they were going for.  They recorded a full lap on video, and said it's the fastest 4-door EV lap.  There is zero debate whether they actually achieved that lap time or not, just whether it's "certified".  They made their own class and called it a record.

There is zero evidence that Tesla completed one lap anywhere near that time.  They claimed their data supports that they can run that time.  Zero video.  Zero proof.  We have hearsay that someone hand timed the lap.  That's it.  Tesla, in all their fraudulent depths, wouldn't even make that claim.

Again, there isn't any proof they strung together a full lap.  We have hearsay of a hand timing that Tesla won't confirm either.

It's easy: release an in car video like porsche did.  Even then though, this isn't close to a production car.

Tesla expected to post drop in year-over-year quarterly revenue; first since 2012.

How much longer can it go on?

MrH

The whole stock priced is based on the unlimited demand and perpetual growth narrative.  The numbers don't support that any more.  If this is their steady state demand, they are structurally bankrupt.

# of deliveries doesn't matter.  I'm expecting a 90k+ numebr of deliveries for Q3 on Thursday.  Stock will bump up on that, I'll buy some more long dated puts, and wait for the disastrous financials to follow.  It'll be another $300-$400m loss.

Also should I quote you on mocking them for releasing a lap video of Leguna Seca that wasn't "official"

I think it could work. It's much less cringey than a BMW X6 Competition. What competition, exactly? I wish more auto makers would develop a little sense of humor.
