I'm with sporty...should have been an open wheel car.

Merc should have just homogenized an actual F1 car.

Isn't this going to be road legal? I don't think various regulations would allow open-wheel.

Cars like the T-Rex have a semi-open wheel arrangement, and they are road legal.

Man, this is a proper geek hypercar. It's not about sixteen cylinders and eighty turbos; it's a real-deal F1 engine with rinky dink displacement and sky high redline. A thousand horsepower, nevertheless. JFC, I can't wait to see some videos of this banshee in action without narration or dubbing.

I believe part of the purchase price includes a mandatory 35,000 mile engine rebuild, just like a proper F1 car...

I believe the mileage is 45,000 km (might be 35,000 miles) at which the engine needs to be rebuilt. It's probably not a huge deal because these cars will in all likelihood  accumulate most of their mileage on a race track or short trips around town. Then there's also EV mode which is perfect for in-town driving and spares the engine from more wear and tear.

I actually think 45,000 km is pretty acceptable considering F1 engines last like what, 1000-2000 km max? I remember how in the mid-1990s F1 engines were maybe good for two, possibly three races, before they had to be rebuilt.

Up next, I wish MB would make a street-legal version of this!
