WHat kind of comparison is this? You might as well throw a Mercury Topaz into the mix as well.
I vote Camry, the lesser of two evils.

Both are boring, but at least the Camry isn't atrocious.

The Camry generation is 97-01, and you used the 02-06 interior.

Also the Malibu was 97-04', not 99'.

With all due respect, Iffy, he used the correct generation of Camry interior.  I would know, we have a 2000 in the garage that will be mine.

Malibu and I am the only one so far. I'll take a chevy over a toyota any day and I like the malibu better, design wise IMO. I don't like either car though.

The odo on my '89 AllTrac nearly doubled that when I last saw it.

The last odo pic I have of it is at 307K or so.

A certain Honda Prelude has 322,000 MILES on it (not those weak ass kilometers :P ). Of course it is on its second engine, but the first made it to about 250k.

... the AllTrac was around 600,000km or something, I may be off, when it was sold by my family friend to a college kid a few weeks ago.

Our Astro died with 245,000 miles on the original engine.  My car had 159k when the original engine died.  If I had to pick between the Malibu's possibly evil manifold gasket on the 3.4 liter engine (which is mechanically identical to the engine in the Venture) or the Toyota appliance-like 3.0 liter engine, I'd have to pick between the latter.  I know that the 3400 can be reliable and it's torquey as hell, but the rest of the Malibu blows and is cheaply constructed in comparison to the refri--er, Camry.

Gimme a Contour instead...or a Legacy...or something!

The Malibu used the 3100 engine, not the 3400. Platform-mates Grand Am and Alero used the 3400.

My bad.  The manifold problem for the 3400 was fixed for the 2001 model year (good to know now), but I don't know a whole lot about the 3100.  Our Olds had the 3300, which was a POS.
