On my old Bug, the stupid wiper linkage was always an issue, nobody makes replacement parts and the junkyard crap was worse than what I had.
On the old truck, the wiper linkage is still working well after 57 years, but the rubber wiper blades are difficult. I wanted to retain the stainless steel arms and blade holders, so I ordered some "universal" Trico 6MM refills from Amazon. After adjusting the holder width and cutting the blades down to 12 inches, I now have new wiper blades.
What a pain in the ass.
Glad it doesn't rain a lot here. ;)
Ok.
I was walking through shopping center in San Jose today and there was a car in there with one of the wiper arms broken off - driver side. The stump was carefully wrapped with gaffer tape. It almost never rains here - so why bother replacing it?
Winter is rainy season here in La-La land.
A few months ago I got the classic style Trico wipers for the El Camino. They fit a lot better than the newer styles. Probably don't wipe as well, but meh.
I haven't had good luck with rubber refills lately. Never seem to work as well as just buying a whole new wiper.
I like wiping
The answer is Rain-X.
