Lightweight moose brethren but deer are a major issue for drivers here. So I can relate. They don't wander, they jump out immediately in front of you. It doesn't matter whether you're doing 25 or 45, it's impossible not to hit them.

There was a guy back home that hit one in the family car every 6 months or so. Rest of the family driving the same car on the same roads about the same times never had an issue LOL.

And if the dumb animals just waited for the cars to pass everyone would be fine!!!!!

Ex MIL hit a deer at the start of a 6hr trip from Maine to NH. Trooper was behind them and actually wrote an explanation out for them. Sure enough got pulled over twice for the broken headlight before they got home.

A friend in SC was driving entire family about 3hrs late at night and hit a deer literally 2 miles from arriving home safe. Totaled the older minivan..

People think they're so cute - but they're a pest. We have to cull them every few years. Even though the Dept of Natural Resources manages it & makes sure it's done properly, it always causes a frenzy on Facebook.

Anyway I'm sure Ford will fix this - it might not be a moose - maybe a refrigerator that dropped of the truck in front.

Or a dryer.  Which happened on my commute home last week.  Fell off the side of the pickup in front and smashhhhhh.

My grand parents had a deer run into the side of their car a few years back and cave in the door panel.  Huge nuisance around here.

Not just to cars.  They've taken up residence in suburban and even urban settings (parks and cemeteries) where they are safe from hunters (no other predators) .  Ticks and lyme disease are a major concern.  They destroy people's gardens.

Do people think that an excess deer just move to Florida or something?

If you've got tons of demand, and the cost of goods sold (plus I guess sales expenses) exceeds the selling price, won't you just raise prices?
Also I think Ford still has the $7,500 tax credit tailwind.

  Agreed! I have to spray Deer Away on my plants to keep them from eating them all! And I live in and Urban Area! But every year like clockwork when I post I'm headed to Deer Camp everyone cries about killing Bambi! I tell them if one of Deer totals your new car you'll WISH I'd killed "Bambi"........
