P21W in an 1156 socket?

Is it possible to fit an P21W bulb to an 1156 socket?

I've tried several 1156 LED bulb replacements for my reverse and fog lights.  None provide a meaningful increase in light output over the stock halogen bulbs.  On the other hand, there do exist very bright P21W bulbs, but the socket for the two bulbs is a bit different.

I'v looked for adapters but none seem to exist.  Any ideas?

Fog lights aren't 1156 bulbs typically.

Though it has been decades since I sold auto parts, I believe the pins on the sides of the base are aligned differently.

Indeed.  180 degrees offset vs. something like 140 degrees.

Not sure, though both the reverse and fog lamp are 1156.
