VW Begins Accepting Pre-Orders For ID. Buzz In The UK With Prices Starting From £57,115 ($71,300)

The VW ID. Buzz is one of the most anticipated vehicles of the last few years, in no small part to its awesome throwback-styling coupled with an electric powertrain.

Pre-booking is now available for the passenger minivan, which will allow prospective buyers to plunk down a £2,000 pre-booking fee to secure a priority slot to specify their model during the two-week priority ordering window before orders are made available to the general public.

The ID. Buzz will launch with a unique 1st edition model, which will cost £62,995  (equal to US$78,645 at today's exchange rates) and have a number of special features not available on the standard production model, such as a full range of safety, security, and convenience features, as well as Car2X technology. The rest of the range starts at £57,115 ($71,304) for the stripped-out Life, and £61,915 ($77,297) for the Style grade.

All ID. Buzz models have the same electric powertrain, a rear-mounted electric motor with 201 hp (204 PS / 150 kW) and 229 lb-ft (310 Nm) of torque supplied by a 77kWh battery. The range is expected to be 424 km (261 miles) on the WLTP cycle for the passenger model, while the Cargo body style achieves a slightly higher 424 km (263 miles) of range thanks to the decreased mass.

As if the Buzz wasn't fun enough with its hippie-pleasing styling, it will also be available in 11 psychedelic colors with seven different wheel choices. The interior will also be available in shades other than grey and black, making for almost unlimited personalization.

Adding to the environmental aspect of the van is the use of materials in and out, such as recycled synthetic materials and a leather-free interior. Even the battery housings and wheel rims are made from green aluminum and tires from low-emission production.

For now, the pre-order is not available for the Cargo model, just the standard five-seater, and must be made with a dealer between May 30th and June 30th.

ID. Buzz?

Who is naming these things.  :nutty:

Yeah, having never heard of it before, the headline was very confusing. I thought Buzz was the start of a new sentence.

It's impossible to argue with Raza. He wins. Period. End of discussion.
