Porsche Cayenne Facelift Spy Photos

Look for debut at Detroit or Geneva in 2006. The exterior front end sheet metal gets a complete makeover in order to comply with new EU pedestrian crash laws. In these photos peering through the front bumper outer grille openings appears to be some sort of vertical signal lamp although the front bumper fascia seems to be a mix between the Turbo and S model. Partially covered, the headlamps get a new sleek shape and the rear tailamps get slightly shortened. The rear bumper fascia gets a restyling with cleaner integration of the exhaust pipes. Photos show both dual tip and single tip exhaust. Also expect the base 3.2 liter V6 to get upgraded with the new narrow-angle 280hp 3.6L Passat VR6 engine.
Complete makeover? It looks the same.
Stick M45 headlights on a fat SUV, and you still have a fat SUV.
Are they really going to attach a tire to the rear...I wonder if that will make it into production vehicles. Thats for a LR or Jeep, definitely not for a Porsche.
I think Cayenne turbos are popular among the rich in India...
The headlights are too squinty.

That might just be the camo over them.

Hopefully...they look way out of place and way out of proportion.
headlights are too small, but the grille/airintake is waay to big.

*sigh* I hate when things are way out of proportion.
Put the pipes back where they were!

The exhaust pipes are in the same place...
They look better below the bumper:

I see what you mean now. They are in the same place, I just believe the bumper was lowered to encompass the pipes.

I like that better than this new design, although the new design isn't anything bad.
I actually like it.

If you weren't the Admin, I'd have you banned for that. <_< :P
Um...it looks...better? Is that the right answer?

thats this cars good angle...
The Cayenne doesn't look that bad in person, but it's hideous in pictures.

Its very hunkered down and sporty in person, IMO.

There was a white one with Kuwaiti plates in my family's home-city back in Syria. Looked REALLY out of place in a country where it would easily cost well over $200K.
It needs the 20" wheels to look good, Cayenne's without them look bloated.

Yea, they have to pay more than double the car in taxes in that region...

No, only in Syria. And the Europeans are even managing to pressure them to lower it (The Syrians are trying to open the door to more economic cooperation with the EU).
I've seen a couple Cayennes in person as well, and yes, they look much better in person.
i hope they make th e grille smaller.

I think in Israel too you have to pay 118 percent tax on your vehicle.

Possible. But I know that most Middle Eastern countries are nearly as cheap as the US for cars. Hell, most of the cars with Iraqi plates in Syria are S-Klasse or 5-Series material [even back in Saddam times]. There's an Iraqi Opel Vectra I always see in my home city.
the current Cayenne had headlights similar to the 996. So what happened with the design of the 997?
