Title: 1967 Ford Galaxie & 1972 Ford Thunderbird
Post by: cawimmer430 on September 23, 2017, 12:30:58 PM
Shot these babies today for a classic car magazine.

The Galaxie was a 6-cylinder and column-shift manual, the Thunderbird had the 429cid V8. Both the 6-cylinder and the V8 sounded great. I was surprised that the Thunderbird had such a small fuel tank given the extremely poor fuel economy it gets. The Thunderbird was also very cramped inside - surprising given the almost boat-like exterior dimensions (I am 6'4" by the way).

Nevertheless, I'd take the Thunderbird because I love '70s American iron. Look at it! She's so hot!

This is the garage where the Thunderbird sleeps. Look at all the wonderful GM products in there!  :praise:

Should try to snag a ride in the Eldorado some time.

I'm a big fan of the mid-to-late 60s Ford coupes. A well-built Galaxie or Torino is stunning.

Perhaps one day. I look forward to shooting the cars of the members of that local American Car Club. They have over 60 members.

Yep, the Galaxie was hot and a beautiful car. But you know me, I am a sucker for the '70s!  :praise:

Sadly nobody in the club has a '74 Dodge Monaco!

Love the Galaxie 500, too bad it's not a 427 R-Code, but the '57 Buick Special just might be my first choice.

The 6-cylinder sounded good. I was surprised that this was a 6-er, I was expecting a V8. Second surprise was the column-shift manual.
