Good looking truck, wish it was a little smaller, offered a manual with the 2.3T, had a 2 seat single cab for the base model, and the interior looks pretty dated (I realize this truck has been in production for a few years elsewhere). Nitpicking though, I'm glad they're building it for us.

It looks huge. I had a couple of friends with Rangers. They were nice, small trucks.
Relative to the old US Ranger, it is huge. This truck is built for markets where the F-150 isn't sold. Where the is demand for something nearly as capable as a half-ton but not quite so large (due to narrower streets). In terms of size and capability, this thing is basically a narrower, late-90s/early-00s F150.
Looks good.

I really wonder if the coupe-utility will make a return. I think a VW Saviero or similar could have a real market in the US.
Attractive, sounds pretty capable. The 2.3 EcoBoost with the 10 spd should make for a great combination with respect to power and economy.
Not bad. But yeah, the new "small" trucks are seemingly as big as their full-size counterparts of a couple generations ago. No thank you.

In America? Probably not that big of a market. Maybe for the segment of people who need to carry bulky but not necessarily heavy items (like hauling mulch or a dirtbike). My grandfather has always liked the compact trucks (has had a Mitsu Mighty Max and a couple of Rangers), with caps, as runabouts and for tending to his property (owns a fair bit of rural/wooded land). He had a couple of El Caminos before that (still has a late 70s GMC version of the El Camino, but that's a "classic" now, so no longer on active duty). Unlike a CUV, no need to worry about staining or damaging carpeting if he decides to toss a dirty weed-eater or chainsaw in the back to go out and deal with property upkeep. Though it seems that many of the buyers of the old Ranger, at least commercially, have jumped onto the small van segment with the likes of the Transit Connect and similar.
People say they want a small truck but don't buy them. Gotta have the biggest and brashest and chromest!

Is it actually narrower than one of those though?

I would buy one. Because I'm satisfied with my penis and know how much truck I actually need.

Not sure about the US spec model, but the T6 sold elsewhere is just under 73". Late 90s F150 was ~78 or 79, (not much narrower than the more recent generations).
You could park the old Ranger in the new one's bed
Curious what the base model looks like.

I like the looks of the new one, but it's too big for me and my needs/tastes. Judging by the popularity of the Colorado, I think it'll do well sales-wise.
I called dibs on my brother's B3000 when he decides to upgrade - it's the perfect size [for me].

No "current" plans to bring it here. Eventually though it'll probably come here with the 2.7TT

Isn't the current Ranger kinda old? This may just be a case of Ford just waiting for the next gen cars to reach production to bring the Raptor over. Although, man, that's a sick looking truck and I normally don't care for pickups.

They're already bringing the normal Ranger here this year, and the raptor will print money for them. I think they want to let the normal Ranger sell for a bit before bringing this here.
