People

Buddy of mine came out karting with us.... there were 4 of us, he was the slowest by like 4 seconds. I saw him yesterday, he's gonna drop 20K to supercharge his Challenger SRT8
20K?  He gonna replace his whole drive-train?

Depending on which kit you get, the parts alone can easily exceed $7K.  Then all of the labor to install them.  For $20K, probably doing pistons, rods, and possibly the crank.

I think he is getting hosed. But it's a Mangusson supercharger... that alone costs $7K. Install price seems high. I hope the shop is legit as well

Who cares?  He's 4 seconds slower than you.  He deserves it.

CaminoRacer

It'll probably be in YouTube in a month. I watched it on MotorTrend On Demand

Ahhh I gotcha.  Yeah, could only find the preview on their YouTube channel.

In other news, I think I'm gonna do my carrier bearing and u-joints.  I get a bit of shudder under acceleration and apparently that's a tell-tale sign that it's u-joint time...didn't realize they were so cheap.

I wish MTOD would let them make DED episodes longer than 23-25min.  It's better than Roadkill at this point (IMO) but we don't get enough of it.

Yeah, it would be nice to see a more in-depth built process.

I was merrily doing about 160kph today on the highway to Mexico City in the MINI when I felt a kick and a huge loss of power. The car felt as if it had half the power. Stopped and checked. An air hose that feeds air from the turbo and into the engine had gotten loose. So, the car had become a very poorly tuned 1.6L N/A 4 cylinder. It had about a 140 kph top speed. Stopped a few miles ahead at a roadside mechanic. Hose was reconnected in 3 minutes, fixed, check engine light went out. Probably the easiest to fix mechanical problem ever.

I guess it was badly connected after the accident repair the car had about a year ago.

One can only hope that they go with the modern DOHC engine.

So does a steam engine.

SBC competes with (and beats) modern DOHC engines, whereas a steam engine doesn't.

Sure it does.  Why do you think super carriers and attack subs use steam turbines instead of IC piston engines?

Because they're getting heat from a nuke maybe?
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

Another means of motivation for automobiles that is, sadly, being overlooked.

Ford considered it briefly.
