Dropping by on my Suzuki SFV

So I just thought I'd check up on the old gang after fading out a few years ago. Glad to see this place still popping.

Biggest news for me:

I actually picked her up last March, and almost 5000 miles later, I still look forward to taking her for a ride. It's my first bike, and I haven't dropped it yet! (not at speed, at least) *knock on wood*

I do still have the old Caddy, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't prefer being able to split through traffic and even the general sensation of being exposed to the open road.

Obligatory Caddy pic:

for anyone keeping track, she's at 12 years old and 114k miles.

Nice! The motorcyclists are almost outnumbering the gays/Miata drivers/Infiniti G owners

It is pretty much impossible to do better than a 650-700 twin on the street. Love mine

No kidding, I'm not even ashamed to admit I'm in love with this engine. The torque and sound make it feel kind of like I'm driving a tiny Mustang GT convertible on 2 wheels. What are you riding nowadays sporty?

Cant post pics here but I've been riding a stripped down Ninja 650 for about 4 years. I want to make a lateral move to an old SV or that new FZ-07 though. 270 degree twins>>>> 180 degree twins.

Yup, just saw your thread a few posts down. Def. a fan of the naked/streetfighter look. What do you think of the new SV? Seems to be quite a bit of hype surrounding them, but it just looks to me like a purer, more back-to-basics version of my bike...

SVs are the best!

I liked it when I saw it but I'm more partial to the FZ-07. They made a parallel twin sound like a V-twin, and it has more displacement + significantly less weight (like 50lbs). With an R6 suspension/brake swap I would be happy. I still love the 03-08 SV though.

The great Vin man is back!!

The bike must be a lot of fun.
A good friend will come bail you out of jail...BUT, a true friend will be sitting next to you saying, DAMN...that was fun!

Definitely more fun than I expected! Scary to ride fast, though. I've taken it to ~100 once, and I would be fine not doing that again  :mask:
