¡Bought a MX5 RF!

Well, it looks like OH is swimming in MX-5 RFs. I'm exploring if I should just wait for them to come in stock here, or if I should just pull the trigger now. Delivery and registration eats up over half of the cost savings of the Mazda discount plan.

https://www.mazdausa.com/shopping-tools/inventory/new/2017-mazda-mx-5-miata-rf?vin=JM1NDAM78H0101886#vc=MXR&zipcode=45404&distance=250&dlrId=61585,60247,61446,60257,61505,61598,60258,61460,61511,61454,61604,61522,61597,61578,61625,60402,61551,60434,70719,60249&mc=MXR++GT+6P++&eClr=&cond=n&yr=2017&p=1&ps=9&s=d&dealer=61585

S-plan MSRP $33,885.
with plan => $32,044
+ delivery ($1000?)
----------------------
33,329
+ 9.5% tax
+ $285
= $36,780 total

Any other cities/zips I should look at that are closer than Dayton OH? Oregon has nothing. WA basically has squat in stock. Maybe southern California?

Also, is there a private party I can use to arrange transport?

Ship it here, I pick it up, store in my garage for a day or two, you fly down and acquire new RF that may or may not be missing some rubber from the rear tires? :lol:

Well, it might have to sit around for a few weeks, so I can find a legimitate sounding business reason to fly. ;)

Are you srs about the garaging offer? I'll call some stealerships in the Bay Area, then. That sounds more better.

Fuck. I could do a day or tow but not sure if they'd be cool with a couple weeks. I can ask and let you know. They don't even let me park inside. :lol: :cry:

Apparently I get pounded in the butt by CA taxes if I don't get it shipped out of state. If it touches CA roads, I pay $$$. Then I pay $$$ again when I register it in WA. Sorry, transport it is.

OK, California sucks. I guess it's because they have year-round demand.

I found a dealer near Denver CO that offers S-plan pricing on a red/tan GT. I guess dealers in snowy climates are having a hard time finding buyers. :lol:!

Getting prices from them now. Transport looks like it'll be half the cost of Ohio.

And - lol - one of the SoCal dealers I talked to wanted $3k over MSRP. Ya rite

I just messaged the guy I test drove the Miata with if he has an RF cars

Laconian

The transport fee from OH is tough to swallow, though. It's like $1200 at minimum. Probably more like $1500. And S-plan figures are the same from state to state so there isn't a lot of wiggle room there.

My local Mazda stealer has a white RF.
But they suck. They are the ones who made a verbal agreement on the used Cube, then called me to renege as I was walking out the door to drive over there.

SC has a $300 cap on vehicle sales tax. I think. Try a place without any sales tax.
