I like it. I really just want to know what's happening with the new Forester. Differentiating that vehicle from the Outback and the Crosstek should be an interesting challenge. I heard some of the styling cues are similar to the Ascent. We will see I'm sure.

Subie's website says the Ascent has more
-passenger space than CX-9
-bigger than Highlander
-taller than Titan
-more passengers than explorer
-more cargo room behind rear seat than Pilot
-tows more than GMC Acadia
-more shoulder room than Santa Fe
-ground clearance than something or other

Sure- I was just going off memory.   I think it's a funny statistic. Most of them are though.

Does Subaru use the "certified" tow rating numbers? (The Acadia absolutely does not)
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

No, those are too small. I am thinking something sized like an Edge or Murano. Compact crossovers are tight for infant seats. Ours is a midsize and our smallish child seat just barely fits behind my wife.

Newer Forester seems pretty big in the backseat.

This page says the Forester second row is within 2in of Murano's head, shoulder, hip room, and .7in legroom.

websites are giving me issues here at work but one says Outback is 38.1in rear legroom vs Murano's 38.7in.

Clearly they need another vehicle. .6" in legroom is critical to fit Sporty's lifestyle

What are you talking about? Outbacks are huge! Tons of legroom in the back.

plus a SWB version would by definition have less passenger room in 1st and 2nd row.

Sporty's "it should be smaller" logic rarely applies to any real world experience.  Come on, now.  We all know this.

Only complaint I could see is that the Outback feels like a raised station wagon (cuz it is).

I think a more blocky SUV styled 2-row thing wouldn't be a bad idea. Like a shorter Ascent.
