What would you sell?

Ok, this is right now 99% fantasy, 1% a real possibility.

A couple of weeks ago my Porsche sales guy contacted me about a 911 Carrera T allocation. I've been mulling it over. I may have lost the allocation already but not sure.

In any case, no way I can do this and hold on to all the Ms. What would you sell to get this?

This is my desired config: http://cc.porsche.com/icc_euro/ccCall.do?userID=PLM&lang=mx&PARAM=parameter_internet_mx&hookURL=https://www.porsche.com/latin-america-es/modelstart/all/default.ashx&webcode=PJ7MS9W6

Please keep it fair to the Porsche by not bringing up the obvious CR-V choice for a couple of pages.

I thought you said there was no way you could hold on to the Ms, as in "misses", like you were getting rid of Monica for a 911

You would pick yellow?  Wow, that's bright.

I would dump the Mini, E46, and E60 honestly.  Keep the 1M because it's something unique, the X5, fill your daily with something more reasonable than the E60, and the 911.

Good one.

E60 and MINI are pretty much obvious sells. Monika can daily the X5. The E46 is dearer to my heart, but could go. And the 1M I also like a lot and it does not depreciate.

I would like to get out of the GT4 3 way deal as well. The 911T would be much more enjoyable day to day and pretty much deliver the same performance at the track.

Really? I haven't sold a car in 4 years or so. I constantly fantasize and start pointless threads like this one, but on actual car trading you have me beat. The last car I got rid of was the E90 when I got the M5 a few years ago. (Cars I get for Monika don't count).

I agree with this. Also, while I'm happy to see the word "manual", yellow has to be the one colour that doesn't work for a 911, IMHO. The exception might be the darker hued RUF "Yellow Bird".

Logically, the 911 fills the same niche as the E46 M3.  Would make sense to sell that one.

I would get out of the GT4 first.  Not sure if that means selling your stake to your partners or selling the car outright, but no reason to have that and the 911 IMO.  I would keep the 1M and X5.  The E46, E60 (M5?), and Mini are all easily replaced by the X5 (X7 in the near future?).

I'm not sure I would really stress out about a 911T.  So much emphasis and price being placed on so little weight loss.  Nobody is going to really tell the difference between that or a similarly optioned Carerra... and it's not like the Carerra or Cararra S is really lacking in any specific area.

Well the E46 and 1M are gaining value so it seems weird to ditch them unless absolutely needed.  I assume the same can be said of the GT4.

E60 will have terrible resale value that continues to get worse.  As does the Mini.  Probably can't get rid of both without replacing it with some kind of family vehicle... But you sort of desire something perhaps bigger.

So ditch the e60 and mini, buy regular 911 + family mobile

Thing is the T is priced at a very attractive level in Mexico. Compare to this sparely optioned base Carrera: http://cc.porsche.com/PorscheCodeService/pcsdispatcher?hookURL=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.porsche.com%2Fusa%2Fmodelstart%2Fall%2Fdefault.ashx&webcode=PJ6AZXM8

It's the same price! The T will have better resale and the cool factor (albeit slight) over the base of being rarer.

What about a used 991.2? Then sell everything but the X5, MINI and GT4 stake. You can definitely DD a C2

Invest in a real Porsche. The icing on the cake is you shouldn't lose money with depreciation.

...unless you back it into a ditch.

Why would you consider selling any of them?  Keep them all and get the 911, leverage is your friend.

I'd sell the E60, the Mini, not buy the 911, and buy out the other shares of the Cayman GT4.

There's too much parked. All the others I and/or Monika use at least once a week. With the GT4 months can go by. It doesn't help that it has to stay mostly parked far away in Mexico City because of my partners. I like the GT4 but I don't love it. Partly because it isn't mine.

Yeah. At the track at our altitudes I am pretty sure it will at least match it. With equivalent tires only probably beat it. All that with far more daily usability including taking the little kids in the back.
