The Colorado is priced to compete with the Tacoma. The Hilux is less expensive.

The Mitsu L200 is pretty cool. We had a 2004-5ish model as our line truck in Dubai. It drove great and was pretty punchy. I see the 2 dr model starts at around $17,500 US down there. I wish we had them up here.

Oh there's also a Wrangler pickup coming.  I know I was just talking about ride quality and things, but it might offer some things than no other truck can. (Then again it might not and just be a poor riding truck 😂)

I like how it looks, it will be awesome offroad, but poor riding onroad, and it will be stupid expensive.

68_427

Do we know if it will have a removable rood panel or half doors/removal doors yet?  If so the benefits of those features might be worth the trade off for worse on road driveability.  However I wouldn't be surprised if the ride quality of the JL is near what it is for some of these trucks.

The Mitsubishi by far. We have one here in rental spec that I drive daily and it's a blast. The ranger is terrible in comparison. And yeah just get barebones.

Wasn't the ranger just heavily redesigned or updated with the NA market (USA) in mind?

Maybe. We have a 2016 or 2017 model here. It's cramped, numb, clunky, ponderous.

I will go look at it too. It is ranked 1st for the segment on several brit magazines.

We have a weird El Camino collector in the BMW club that would pay very good money.

VW Saviero.

If looking at a car exclusively for errand guy, it would work. there are other mini pickup choices down here like that. Take a look:

http://www.chevrolet.com.mx/tornado-2018-camioneta-pick-up.html

https://www.renault.com.mx/vehiculos/autos-particulares/oroch.html (this one looks interesting and I didn't even knew existed, but Renaults tend to be a reliability nightmare).

Plus one one that Renault. It looks good and probably a pretty new design based on the new Duster.

Does the Honda Ridgeline look too lame?  It's the best driving pickup on road. Plus you're halfway to experiencing CRV...

Mexico has had some interesting vehicles we never got. Check this one out:

That's the appeal of the Hilux. A "forever" truck.

You can pass it down to Li'l Hector.

Errand guy during the day using the pickup buys some plants and pots them in Hector's garden.  Hector, in the evening, puts on his boots and sombrero and uses the pickup to take his kids out for ice cream.  The next morning Hector tells errand guy that if he could clean up some of the ice cream spillage of his kids that would be great.

At least that's how I envision it.  Honestly it's a really good plan.  BMW doesn't get ice cream stains, Hector gets to wear his boots and sombrero, errand guy has job security because his employer bought a new car for him to use, and Mrs Hector has two different types of cars to choose from for her commuting needs.
