Looks okay.  Didn't wrinkle it up too much.

Good God that looks hideous. Like something one of those tuners like Mansory would bring out.

I don't like it a lot but kudos to Audi for finally having the balls to break with their super boring evolutive design language.

Q8, so this thing is bigger than the Q7? ie Massive? Photos make it look more midsize.

Jalopnik said it has 3 rows. Then it must be huge because the pictures make it look like it can only accommodate two rows.

For a 3 row beast, it looks pretty good.  What other 3 row SUV has a coupe like profile?  Assuming it starts around $80-90 thousand and the third row is good enough for kids, it'll sell well I think.

I've always thought the Mercedes GL boring looks were it's weakpoint.  It's also very old in the tooth design wise.  Escalade has much better road presence.

Submariner

Not bad.  I'm sure inmates stuck in the third row will appreciate the view.

It is shorter the a Q7, I'm pretty certain it only has two rows.

Then why give it nomenclature indicative of a larger vehicle?

What's next?  A two seat A9?

It's Audi's version of the X6. A smaller, less practical, more "stylish" Q7. Similar to the A4:A5 or A6:A7.

If this is their idea of breaking out Audi needs to reinforce the cages and build higher + thicker walls.

It's like they took the nose of a half ton pickup truck and grafted it onto a Q5. My eyes are itching.

Yeah the front end is throwing me off for whatever reason. Such a gaping mouth.

Then this should be the Q7 and the Q7 should have been the Q8.

Those back seats do not look at all comfortable.

That is even more a misstatement.

Q8 - helps it sell in the Middle East.

Audi seems to have lost control of their front end design about 12 years ago when it became quite ugly; a jaw-dropping gape.

No, the bigger 3 row X5 < the smaller, "stylish" X6. Same with the 3/4 series. This follows suit

Germans have always done alphanumeric soup so there's precedent, and it's not hard to follow (unlike Lincoln/Infiniti/Acura).

The big problem here is this thing is fucking hideous.

It's a little weird on the front fascia, but the rest of the car has the same proportions that Audi always uses on literally every SUV ever.

You're right.  The Jalopnik article incorrectly stated 3 rows but a few other sites indicated 2 rows which makes a lot more sense given it's side profile.

As an expensive two row coupe like styled SUV, it's not going to sell in high numbers compared with the Q5 and Q7.
