Lol.  There's a 10'9" rail bridge a few miles from my house that gets hit all the time.  A double-decker tour bus hit it about 10 years ago and a few people were killed.  They have since painted it bright orange, put tons of signage, and put a system in that will detect over-height vehicles and flashes warning lights and an illuminated sign to warn drivers that their vehicle is over-height and that they need to stop.  It still gets hit a couple of times per year.  It's not even a major truck route, but I think a lot of GPSes send drivers down it because it is a shorter route.

FYI; on most modern bridges the outside beam is sacrificial: while it does bear weight, the rated capacity of the bridge does not count the support of the outermost beams.

Also, there's a reason why truckers use GPS software tailored to trucks- or at least the good ones do.

Yeah, a lot of the trucks look like rentals, that aren't using professional GPS. Nor remembering to pay attention to height.

Uhauls have the height painted backwards so you can see it in the side mirrors.

The county should set up a giant horizontal bandsaw station on each side. Trucks would divert there, get their roofs sliced off down to the correct height, and then proceed.

That's exactly what the yellow "can opener" bar does! It's surprisingly effective at absorbing the energy before the bridge gets hit.
