Layer of grease or some WD40 keeps rust off the rotors as well.

Or you could make them out of Inconel.

Yes, but for the rich guy who only drives his Porsche one day a month, not having unsightly poseur rust on the rotors is totally worth the cost.

I thought it's more for the carbon ceramic brake performance without the price to go with it?

I'll stick with my zinc coated rotors for 10% more than regular iron rotors.

The mirror finish is cool though. And I was impressed than the coating doesn't wear out. That was my biggest question when he said they were just coated instead of using a different iron alloy or whatever.

I wonder how much stainless steel would cost, if it would dissipate heat worse, and what about other metal alloys??... I'm guessing they go with iron just because of heat dissipation. Copper might be cool?...

SS doesn't handle heat as well, I think. Looks like bicycles use it but nothing larger than that.
