Poll
Question: If there were a bowl of each which would you reach for?
Option 1: M&Ms (original, brown package)
Option 2: Reese's Pieces

Halloween candy made me think of it. I've always really liked Reese's pieces but almost never see them.

Both of them are bad IMO. M&Ms are flavorless. Reese's Pieces are greese'y.

Since you said original M&M's I went with Reese's Pieces.

I only like the crispy and pretzel M&M's.

Wat.

If any M&M is better than the originals, it's the peanut. All other M&M flavors are crap.

The peanut butter M&Ms are a better way to get good fatty PB flavour than Reese's.

The pb M&Ms are pretty good, but I think Reese's are better.

Reeses Pieces don't have chocolate; PB M&M's do

E.T. made Reeses Pieces.

They have a sweet aftertaste I'm not a huge fan of.  Peanut M&Ms all the way.

PB M&Ms make me say ouuuuchh....

You guise aren't getting the point of the poll. It's normal brown wrapper M&M's vs Reese's Pieces. Any of the other kinds of M&M's would kick Reese's Pieces butt.

Reeses Pieces over original M&Ms.

Peanut butter m&ms win all, though.

I'm pretty sure the original is by far the most popular.

Regardless, I wanted to make it straightforward Pieces vs M&Ms. As opposed to Pieces vs your individual choice of favorite M&Ms.

WHY are they so popular, though? It's like eating chalk.

I don't think they're bad, but that was sorta my point.  I think most people if asked would say Pieces are better, yet M&Ms seem to be 20x more popular.

You don't like either though, so you don't count.  :evildude:

The brown ones are just the most common ones, not the best. A lot of stores don't even carry any M&M's other than the normal and the peanut ones.

Well the ones I see most commonly at the stores are the regular, peanut, peanut butter, crispy and pretzel. People with peanut allergies can't even have two of those, and I guess weird people don't like the crispy or pretzel ones so I can see how the regulars would be popular.

Between the two listed, plain M&Ms. I never liked Reese's Pieces---they really have little flavor and what they do have is similar to something by Weyerhaeuser, not Mars.

Unfortunately, no.  All M&Ms are inferior to Reese's Pieces.  Some less so, like peanut, crispy, pretzel, and coconut, but Reese's Pieces are THE BEST candy shell candy.  Don't even get me started on the joke that is Peanut Butter M&Ms.....might as well throw that in the pile with Hydrox.

Reese's Pieces PB tastes fake and kinda oily to me. I still prefer it to regular M&M's, but they're nowhere near as good as the other flavors.

A rich chocolate core with Brazil nuts wrapped in a shell that closely resembles ribbon candy.  They're delicious, but you'd likely have to order them online.  Hard to find in stores outside of central NY.
