As much as I think it's stupid
I also think it looks fantastic
Why does the name make me think of something contagious having to do with the wedding tackle?

Yeah, this does fall into the "dumb but awesome" category.
I'm still wrapping my head around a Lambo SUV
Then again an X5M can grip at 0.98g on a skidpad. Hopefully they bring back the TT V10. Wow. Twin turbo V10 Lambo SUV. That actually sounds pretty cool
The lines are very interesting. Excellent application of the 'New Edge Design' philosophy.
It looks way too conservative to be a Lambo, though! I mean, it looks like an A7 met an Evoque. Way too practical.

It looks like Audi is selling the Cayenne under their name after a lazy restyle.

They did it before it was popular! Remember the LM002?
This SUV goes 190MPH.
Blah! It won't sound Like The Rambo Lambo! Mike Tyson had one that would rattle you windows! But it was ugly... But in a cool way!
:/
Meh.
Narcos will love these. I expect to see quite a few around. Finally an SUV to show your rival narco boss who really is a baller.
As good a place to post this as any;

+1
Wasn't there something about the next Lambo SUV having an interior with granite instead of wood trimming? Anyways I agree with the sentiment that this isn't what a Lambo should look like.
All in all it looks good, except for all those holes in the front. Looks like it crashed into a cheese grater.
The holes in front are the only thing that makes me think it might not be an Audi or Porsche.
This thing sucks. Bring back Rambo Lambo.
Not a fan. I'm sure it will drive well enough, but yuck.
It doesn't look like SuperFX car at all. Fewer polygons, dammit!

Sounds like "you're us". Makes me think and "we're you". Still sounds too much like 'urine' though. Have no idea what the name is supposed to mean though; if it means anything. Lamborghini seems to like to think of themselves as bulls. Maybe it was the name of a bull.

Urus is the Greek or Latin or something for Aurochs, a sort of wild ice age super bull.

I see. I had read somewhere that there are attempts to back breed certain cattle in order to recreate the Auroch. This SUV is far too pretty to be named after those monsters though.
Too similar to Uterus

I thought of a blend between Urine and Lupus.

Yes, but this is Urus. One S.
I would have known that one from the constellations Ursus Major and minor

Thanks. Now I have even more queasy associations to the car.
Lambo has historically used bovine/bull and bullfighting inspired names. Their cars were either named after notable fighting bulls (like Murcielago) or other things related to bullfighting (like Estoc, a bullfighter's sword). Urus is either a reference to a specific bull, or a more general reference to the ancient species of great bull.
Should've just called it Auroch.

Urus might be Italian too.
Still...

I thought Espada was the sword; what was the Estoc?

Sorry, you're right. Was there ever a car called Estoc?

I don't know; thought you did.
Looks like no; but it is also used as a name for a matador's sword. A different one from the espada de matodora toros, but still a bullfighting sword. M
Would make a decent Lambo name.

There was a concept Lambo Estoque, a four door sedan.

Same word, different spelling (I think that's either the Spanish or Italian spelling; Estoc is French). Maybe I'm not crazy after all...
Estoque = espaƱol
The Lambo look doesn't seem nearly as special when it's not floating 1 inch off the ground. :hmm:

Estoque. Estoque is a matador's sword. Espada is also a sword.
The rituals and naming around bullfighting is so ritualistic, I'm not surprised there are two words for the same meaning. I mean, as I understand it, the toreador and the matador are the same guy--the toreador becomes the matador as he closes in on the kill.
El luchador torro con l'espada.
Or as we like to say it, "el bullo fightero con el sworderino"
Espada is the generic term for a sword in Spanish (from the Latin Spatha). An Estoc (estoque in Spanish), is a specific type of sword. It's a narrow-bladed thrusting sword originally design to pierce plate armor and mail. They typically didn't have much of a cutting edge, an emphasis being on stabbing/thrusting to either pierce plate or find the narrow gaps between armor plates. The design would evolve into the rapier. Bullfighters use an estoc-like blade (shorter and stouter than a rapier).
