Love that shade of red. I wish Taco was a bit darker of a red like that. What'd you use for wax, out of curiosity?

Turtle wax Ice synthetic. Lasts longer, easier to apply.

Washed and waxed the Miata this morning and went for a ride. Check out that deep shine! Arm's a little sore.  ;)

Perfect colour combo with that cream/white interior.

The spray? That's what I use. Works on black plastic and glass, too.

Yep. The paste version, but you can get it on plastic, rubber and flat black and it works OK.

Found the original window sticker under some papers in the glove box. MSRP was $32, 695 in 2011.

Fancy!

If I ever buy a brand-new car, I would hope for a Miata.

The first Miata (1993) I bought was from my boss- a short signal Major. He said, "it's my wife's car!" but he was the one who drive it every day. When he was going to Hawaii he offered to sell it because his boys didn't want it.

That car was originally white, they had the whole thing painted Miata red after it was rear-ended and repaired. It was rear-ended again, so the decklid was green under red. Bought in summer 2012, had to sell in spring 2013 because of divorce. Bone stock.

My current Miata is so much more go-karty. Very planted, virtually no body roll. Plus I just never liked the pop-up headlights.

The Apocalypse Truck...Own Your Very Own Firewood-Powered Truck For $4,500...It runs on just about anything.

QuoteThe Chrysler Turbine cars could run on an assortment of different "fuels" – diesel, jet fuel, vegetable oil, and even tequila. It was an ambitious experiment in the early 1960s that looked at alternative fuel sources, but it was never as ambitious as this 1995 Dodge Dakota that's listed for sale on Craigslist. It runs off not only gasoline, but also firewood thanks to a gasifier contraption in the truck bed.

A Stirling engine.  They will run on anything that will burn.  Wood, coal, gas, diesel, old tires, garbage...

I want to make a tire burning engine. I'd have free fuel at work.

Oof. Detailing a newer Durango today. Went to pull it into the shop and the driver door wasn't fully closed...no big deal, just driving 15' into the garage...nope, it engages the auto-hold brake feature when I put it in drive. Jfcccccc

Yeah, I tried to open the door when backing up so I could see a curb.  Car didn't like it.

Obnoxious nannies are obnoxious. But I suppose once you are used to the interference, you just learn the habits to bypass it quickly.  For this one it told me to shift into park and then back to drive...okay, sure.

These things happen when someone famous gets killed by a shitty shifter design.

Oh dear god. The fuel door's lock/latch is operated by a servo motor. On a Chrysler product.

There are like ZERO Camaros at my local Chevy dealerships. At least on their websites. Really odd.

With the weather warming, I was toying with the idea of bringing the Mustang out of storage this weekend.  Then I looked at the forecast.  Snow.

That sucks. It's been nice enough in Utah for me to get my motorcycle out and race the El Camino hard enough to break it
