I wish it was possible to get stuck in a ditch in the middle of nowhere where I live.  There is no "nowhere" where I live though.  There's too many humans within a 3 hr driving radius of NYC.  I never need to have a 3 gallon reserve of gas below the Empty sign on the fuel gauge.

It used to crack me up working at McD's in Evanston, WY and hearing people tell other travelers to make sure to fill up often- there is literally no gas station for 70miles east of us. Then it's every 30-50miles you encounter a "city" of 10-50k people. That's on the only Interstate in southern Wyoming!!!

Especially in my El Camino where a full tank is maybe 200 miles if I push it.

so thick it's served upside-down.

Which is not what you should be doing with your car in a blizzard.

Some dude managed to turn over his Traverse in the field next door to my house. Looks like he pulled off the side of the road, and the right front sank into the mud and he tried to gun it to get out, but just went further down the ditch and turned over.

Also, the wife's Durango is full of squirrels.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

Is having a Durango full of squirrels like having bats in your belfry?

My wife's.

She had surgery about a week ago, and has been resting at home since, so her car hasn't been moving and the squirrels must have moved in and chewed all the wiring on top of the engine. Insurance is coming over to process the claim.

This was just some guy, its just an open field next door; not my neighbor.

Well, I don't exactly have a belfry.

I had rats chew up some wires in my RAV4 engine when I was living in Manhattan 12 years ago.

I thought I would have problems with rodents doing the same thing since living in Connecticut because I always park my car outside and it's very rural where I live.  But so far it hasn't happened.

Soup DeVille

Never had any problems like that before, and I've been here for 10 years. I kinda wonder of the extended cold weather this spring had them looking for alternative nest sights.

I was passing a truck in the passing lane on an uphill e section of road. Bad news was I did not, because of the lie of the road, the size of the truck, & bad judgment, see that I was running out of passing lane space and my lane was merging back in with his. I had to cross into the oncoming side (no oncoming traffic luckily) to avoid being bumped. He tooted me politely, & I felt like a complete idiot: honest mistake but completely my fault for not correctly reading the road. I wish there was an illuminated "Please Excuse my Foolishness" sign I could have lit up.

I'd love one as a DD.

My Nana had an Integra coupe that my Dad ended up buying from her. Unfortunately I don't think I ever got to drive it.

Haha he said "simplistic," easy mistake to make for an eight-year old (or an adult Jalopnik writer.)

But yes I haa a regular vanilla 1.6 Civic Coupe of that era and it was a gem. Slow, but still a well-balanced, wonderfully-riding gem. The next generation of Civics took Honda down the drain of bleak cost-cutting & mediocrity

That's incredible. Some day, if I'm rich, I'd like to buy a car or two and never drive them but once a year.

I don't get people who do that. At least in this case it was Honda themselves. If I was a car company I'd store a few and do exactly this - bring it out 20/40/50 years later and get some press attention.

I think this piece highlights the difference between the old affordable performance cars and the new ones.  The old ones have possibly better engines, or at least much more interesting and unique, but the new ones are just better pretty much everywhere else.  But man, I bet the new Si with a proper Vtec 8K RPM K24 would be a riot.

My husband's team went go-karting as a good-bye event (he's going to Cougs team, lol). They invited me along because I befriended them and they were down 1 racer from a full starting grid. Got first place, because the leader was hotdogging it a bit too close to the traction limit and he spun out. My times were consistently low

This has 3.42 gears.  My friend drove the same route with me in his '09 with 3.73s and used 50% more fuel.  My truck still walks his too.

Also the BOSE stereo in this thing fuckin cranks, and XM41 Turbo is amazing.
