Title: Parasitic losses
Post by: Laconian on August 30, 2023, 03:11:54 PM
What kind of battery depletion are you guys seeing when you let your cars sit?

Here's a data point: the EV6, when left alone in a garage at 60-70 degrees for 3.5 months, lost 7% of its battery. 2% per month, not bad.

Of course the situation changes during winter, though a garage might still be temperate enough to not require battery conditioning.

That's impressive and guessing a benchmark that's difficult to beat. IIRC Tesla owners are told to disable goodies like sentry mode when they're in long-term parking.

The Bolt is minimal. I haven't left it for 3 months but I've never noticed much of a difference when we've left it at the airport for 1-2 weeks. I don't have the dashcam hardwired or anything.
