Maybe within 6 years.

-We prefer to always have an ICE capable of emergency long trips.
-My commute is 22miles one way, hers is 10, up and down hills, both completely within EV range.
-We have a 2 car garage, perfect for charging a car or two.

But we just aren't planning on replacing any cars near term (unless Maverick ever gets delivered, we'd replace one keep the other 2).

I don't see anything within 6 years at the moment.  I can see a possible PHEV for the SUV replacement.  To eventually replace my Giulia?  I want a nice driver focused AWD sports sedan again, not some lifted crossover bombarded by screens.  Nothing like that is really out there in a decent price range at the moment - really only BMW i4 and Porsche Taycan even a possibility going another price class up.

Have a Bolt EV and a Golf Sportwagen. We just got a VIN assigned for a Tesla Model Y. When that comes in, at the end of the month, we'll get rid of both the current cars. It frees up garage space for a fun car later in the year.

I'm probably going to buy an old gas guzzler. I can't afford this electric stuff, even though my 2 mile commute would be perfect for it.

I would consider buying a junk Prius just to work on and learn more about it.

Not contemplating. I have a brand new Tacoma that I plan to keep for, at the very least, 150k miles, so at least ten years.

I was considering it a few months ago but now I think it'll be more than 6 years before I get one.  We've always had one 3 row SUV and one or two mainstreamer sedans and/or small hatchbacks.  EV for me is more than what I want to spend to replace one of the mainstreamer sedans and/or small hatchbacks and it's not a good long distance travel car which is what our SUV is often used for.
