I have a 2016 340xi. It's got the adaptive suspension, track pack, etc. It's great, and now has 68k miles on it. It needs new brakes, which is a $1600 job. I don't have the time or space to do the job myself.
I could probably get $30k for it if I sold it private party, and am thinking of going for a Civic Type R or a GR Corolla for approximately $45-50k as a replacement. In the garage is also my FILs 2014 RDX (he's basically living abroad and the car is now mine) which is cosmetically beat up but mechanically fine, and the S2000. Is this a bad idea?
Sell the Bimmer. Keep das Hondas.
68k miles is typically a good time to sell a BMW, although selling right before/after a $1600 service isn't the best (either you sink the money to get it done or the selling price will be a bit lower with the service in mind)
Have you driven a CTR or GR Corolla to see if it's as good as the 340? And are they available near you without a stupid dealer markup?
Ok now that I'm sober, probably not such a great idea.

Have another drink, buddy
Meh, life's short. In hindsight I was keeping my vehicles for far too long but they were Japanese and I'm sorta cheap, so it was easy to do. No longer. Now I'm on a ~3 year ownership schedule.
